When should you start taking prenatal vitamins before ttc? Like do they have an estimate or suggestion like a week, 6 months, a year? Any ideas?

From what I've heard you should start 3 months before so that the folic acid has time to build up in your system and anything else can have time to get to normal if not already.

hmmmm, good question! I would say a few weeks minimum and the more the better although I imagine your body is as good as it will get after a few months. I know that the most important time to have folic acid in your system is before you even know you are pregnant. Good luck with ttc :flower:

Ideally 3 months but with DD2 I wasn't even taking prenatals when I found out I was pregnant:blush: And she's perfectly healthy :)

I think the official recommendation is "as soon as you're capable of conceiving," which seems a bit extreme. Realistically, 3 to 6 months if you have the luxury of planning that far ahead. It's never too soon. They're great for your nails, too ;)
