Hi ladies

When is it normal to change from size 1 to 2 teats (Tommy Tippee)? How do you know when you need to? My LO is 4 weeks.

Thanks:flower:

When your LO starts falling asleep every time they feed or if they start fussing for no apparent reason.

id say when you thing your LO is ready to.... i was using avent bottles, with the teat 1's for newborns but he was always falling asleep. i used teat 3's for him now an hes only just over 2 weeks.. (started when he was about just over a week) an these teats say there 'suppose' to be for 3m+ *shrug*
my LO is fine with these teats too xx

Xander is 4 weeks today and we have tried him on the vari flow again from yesterday as he feeds every hour over night and only takes 1 oz before going back to sleep:dohh:

I just watched and noticed that my son kept making smacking sounds and collapsing the nipple and it took him forever to drain the bottle.... we just made the switch a week ago to size 2 (right before he turned 3 months)

I switched to Avent size 2 teats when my son was 2weeks old on HV's advice as he was taking an hour to drink 60ml. Now he takes 20mins to drink 100ml.

As someone else said the signs your baby might be ready to go up a size are falling asleep part way through a bottle, struggling to suck, fussing or refusing after a few oz.

We are using tt bottles too and we changed Fran to size 2 at 7wks old for these reasons.

I will warn you that there might be a heck of a lot of dribbling for a few days while LO gets used to the faster flow. Fran ended up with more in her triple chin than she did in her mouth sometimes lol!

My lo is almost 4 months, he's still been on size 1 teats, but now is starting to fall asleep drinking, so i tried size 2 the other day, and it was dribbling out the sides of his mouth. so i went back to size 1 as i was worried that the flow was too fast, but should i stick with the size 2's if the dribbling is normal?

Yeah give it a few days, as I said before Fran dribbled a lot for about a week until she got used to the faster flow xx

we use Avent and I changed in week 3 due to wind and thought maybe it was the teat, also slow intake, also she was draining the bottle.
