When to replace amber teething necklace?

Have any of you replaced your LOs teething necklace?

Evies has gone cloudy and is looking a little old.

We have never taken it off her and i know you should take it off for baths and swimming but we dont

Evie has had hers for about a year and had been suffering a little recently with teeth, more so than usual.

Do you think i should get a new one?

No i wouldnt think so, give it a little rinse then sit it in the sunlight to dry natrually and re charge.
The only reason weve replaced Alexs is because theyve snapped.

I was actually wondering this myself the other day. I'm not sure they actually have a shelf-life as such but LO's has gone all dull looking and she's suddenly started dribbling loads and chewing her fists, which she's not done since before we got her the necklace over a year ago. I think maybe it's time for a new one?

Elski - This is what Evie has been doing. She hardly dribbled when i first got her the necklace but these last few days she has been like a fountain.

I have seen a gorgeous necklace on DinoDaisy so maybe im just trying to justify buying a new one!

Rivers had the same one since 8 weeks 24/7. Wont replace it unless it breaks

It never occured to me to change it My daughter's only been wearing hers since her first teeth cut at 9 months, so for about 7 months. But she too wears it all the time (bed, bath, swimming etc). I imagine the cord is probably a little worse for wear now, but the beads themselves seem to be fine. Have you tried washing it though? I end up washing it when she gets Weetabix on it; perhaps that helps keep it nice-looking? I don't think it would prevent it from working though, if that's what you're concerned about
