When to switch to faster flow

I use Dr Browns bottles and was wondering when to change to a faster flow nipple. My little raptor is 8 weeks old and it takes him about 30-45 mins to take down 6 oz. I was wondering if this is normal or if he needs a faster flow nipple.

I changed to the next one up a few weeks before my daughter was 3 months old.

She was sucking really hard at the teat and also kept falling asleep midway through a feed. She would have a small amount of formula then sleep for 10 mins. I realised she was completely tiring herself out each time she had a bottle. Feeding became so much better for her once we changed.
