What can I do to encourage him to walk?

Let him down to play alot? I remember you saying you did attachment parenting and alot of babywearing etc... I am not being rude either, because I dont know how much you carry him etc...

Does he crawl? Babies usually can at least stand by 9 months... some dont walk until later.

Caitlyn taught herself everything she knows to be honest. After she learnt to crawl I left her to it. She can now take steps all by herself! One step at a time mind, but still a step.

I guess the only thing I do to "encourage" her is sitting oposite where she is standing and putting my arms out so she tries to get to me. And teasing her with toys.

Ya I agree.... and babies usually learn by watching... If he sees you walking around alot etc he may eventually just start trying to do it to get to you.

Dont mean to be rude but why do you want your baby to walk at 9 months?? I would love to have my little non-walking baby back. A lot of babies dont walk until after 12 months some even as late as 18 months and they cant do it until their little muscles are strong enough and developed enough for them to do it, I understand what the other girls are saying they learn by watching but walking is a whole different matter, they have to have the muscles and the balance. xx

I agree with sabby. Colton isn't walking, and I dont want him to  That will be one of the biggest things to signify he is no longer a baby to me: seeing him walk around like a little person. :sad1: He can take as long as he wants to learn too. Everyone keeps saying, "when is he going to walk, etc" now that he is almost a year, but I'm just like "IDK" really thinking.. "hopefully no time soon!" :muaha:
But it really is all about muscle strength and balance; some babies (like my Colton) are just more clumsy and will walk later. And most babies dont walk until after a year. :hugs:
