When would they use a Vontouse rather than Forceps?

i was taken to theatre for when they tried vontouse, but i suspect they may have thought id need a section as the covers were set up ready just incase x

My ventouse was also just in the delivery suite...didnt go to theatre

I had forceps with my DS - lol.....I remember asking why they wouldn't use the Suction cup - the reply was that they needed to get him out now - it wasn't ideal , obviously, and something that I had REALLY dreaded & feared BUT it was considerably less frightening than I had thought before hand.

Thanks ladies! Was speaking with my mum and she didn't know of anyone either, must just be something to do with our hospital that they rather use forceps!
I too am hoping I need neither! Xx
