Hi we went for our first scan last week and everything is ok  After we went to look at prams :baby:, as we have been doing some research on them, We have found the perfect one for us. It is in the sale at the moment so we are all set to buy it. That night i was talking to someone who then told me that it is bad luck to buy a pram and have it at home before your 7 months. Has any one else heard of that? Do you think i should buy it or wait? Please help x

Bad luck to have a pram at home before 7 months? What a load of old baloney! (Polite editted version!) Where do people get this stuff from? It makes my blood boil, my wifes nan told us yesterday, not to go too mad buying things for the baby (she's 20 weeks) what a horrible thing to say, she didn't quite finish that sentance, but we know what she was implying!

Remember this, the odds are ALWAYS on your side, the probability (thanks to millions of years of evolution) is that your baby will arrive as nature intended it, irrespective of when you buy a piece of metal & plastic with wheels on it!

Go out get your bargain, and bloody well enjoy the amazing feeling of preparing for your baby. :hugs: (rant over)

Ive bought mine, i dont really belive in any of the old wives tales. i say buy ur pram :) xx

i ordered mine when i was 13wks, had to so we could spread the cost. ignore old wives tales etc... get your pram especially if its on sale.

some people do say its bad luck! i personally dont have the room for it until i move so if i were you though id buy it...and if v worried store it somehwhere else?!

xx

o dear! go out and buy that pram!!! me and my husband went out and bought the cot and change table when i was 5 weeks. haha.
but we just thought that y wait when it was on specail, we will have it and i wanted to put good vibes into the universe about this lil baby! wierdly enough, i am 25 weeks pregnant and EERYTHING i have neeeded to buy has been on special. i got my pram and my car seat half price for both!!! whoop whoop!!! :hugs:
xoxox

My MIL used to go on about bad luck but we have jamies pushchair int he house soooo lol.... anyway me and hubby have been looking at prams and our going to be buying one as soon as we find one we love x

Dont listen to the crappy tales. The only thing I would say is just make sure that it definately is the pram you want. I have changed my mind soooo many times and I nearly bought one because it was on offer and thought it was the one I wanted, but have changed my mind again!

But if your certain def go for it, things are sooo expensive so if we waited until 7 months noone would have any money when the baby arrives!

If it is on sale and at a good price then what are you waiting for!!!

I have not got my travel system yet but I know which one we are going for and am just keeping my eye on the prices in different stores etc - think I have found a really good deal on it at the moment so am going to get in ordered.

Like someone else said, I have been watching for bargains - have tonnes of nappies (pampers and huggies) and I have paid less than half-price for them with offers in supermarkets and all of the money-off coupons. I also have all my tommee tippee stuff -breast pump/steriliser and bottles again at less than half-price.

So, yes - GO GET THE BARGAINS!!

I think the time is flying by so its never too early! :flower:

i dont believe in all the old wives tails, but my mother does... so i am NOT allowed to have in my place. which is fine by me because we wont have the room for it after we have brought over bits and pieces. Plus if we move like we are intending to we might only end up in a 1 bedroom place so i dont want it in my room.

Bah it's effort at the moment shopping, sod waiting till 7 months to troll round the shops! I bought mine this weekend, god forbid if anything does go wrong, I doubt I'll be blaming the pram in the shed lol
Go for it girl, less said person wants to contribute the extra at 7 months when it's not in the sale, I'd get it bought! :)

I would say get the bargain.

I've put a deposit down on a pram although it won't be getting delivered until two weeks before my due date x

If (god forbid) anything were to happen, its going to happen regardless of whether you have a pram in your spare room/garage or not!! I say enjoy shopping now, getting bits and building up your little collection!

I ordered my pram at 17 weeks and couldnt be more excited! Its all just superstition, no logic to it whatsoever!

I bought mine when i was 12 weeks after my first scan as we had decided that it was the one for us and was in the sale. We save £150 on it, i'd say ignore all the silly old wives tales buying a pram will not have an influence on the well being of your baby. If you want it, you get it and might save a small fortune while ur at it

I couldn't agree more! If anyone really thinks there is a connection between buying a pram and a successful pregnancy they are absolutely crackers!

If something does go wrong (heaven forbid), I'll be devastated regardless of whether I have bought a pram or not! Get the bargain whilst you can.

BTW, I got my pram at 20 weeks as it was a bargain!

I dont believe its bad luck, we have ordered ours and are paying it monthly but will have it in home before baby is born ready for her :) if you have other children and are using the same pram then that would already be in the house so I dont know what the difference is!! if its what you want then go for it :D xxx

Thats what I think, I dont believe for one minute having the pram in my house meant thats why my son died, I'd like to meet someone who did think that :dohh: Pleanty of people do it, its practical!! xxx

lol my MIL told me the same, she had a fit when i told her that i ordered it when i was 12 weeks and an even bigger fit when i said i would be collecting it next week (1 will be 23 weeks) i on the other hand don't believe that buying a pram before the baby is born will make any thing happen x
so go out and buy your chosen pram and enjoy :) xx

I got my last one when I was 8 weeks! Buying a pram wont hurt your :baby:!!

Enjoy! :D
