I had a growth scan 31 weeks and was informed that our baby is measuring 32 weeks. She told me that my new due date was October 31st, my old was November 6th. I'm a little confused as to which due date I should go by? Using the date of my last period I'm due the 6th... so I'm just not sure. I know a week isn't much but I find the idea of having my girlie on Halloween to be very exciting. :happydance:

i would go by whenever your little girl pops out :) no one can ever really be sure of their actual due date!! but i would go by your period date. babies are all different sizes. she may be measuring bigger but that doesn't necessarily mean she's a week older!

It's so strange that they change ur due date in America - they don't do that over here!!! Obviously an EDD is just an estimate, it could be 2weeks either side of that date so just make sure you are ready earlier on just incase x

I agree hun, babies come in all different sizes. I'd by your original date/period date xx

Be a halloween mummy like me :D yay!xx

Thanks ladies! It's interesting that they don't change due dates in your neck of the woods, I don't understand why they do it here. I'm going to take my adjusted due date with a grain of salt. I think she's going to be a big baby!

i find it interesting they change your due dates there- they wont change ours unless its off by 2 weeks- the doc told me at my first appointment that they treat the due date as a due week- i am due on the 6th so i say go by that one! :)

I think my due daye is pretty acurate i had it done when i was 4 weeks and 3 days which is apparently the most acurate time to scan as after 12 weeks babies shoot off in their own growth spurts, so far my dates have fluctuated betwwen 28th august 9th september and 19th september, im sticking with 19th september as this was the first date given to me.

I guess it becomes important at the end when it comes to being overdue/inducing. So depends what you want to happen - if you want an induction then go with the new one, or if you'd rather hang on for longer, go with the old one - do they let you choose the date when it comes to those decisions?!

I had my due date revised too at my dating scan to a week earlier (and I'm in the UK so they must revise it sometimes!). My original date was based on LMP but I was only off the pill 1-2 months so I didn;t think myself that it was fully reliable. Even my original pregnancy test (clear blue) seemed to saying a week earlier so I wasn't surprised when the due date was revised.

At the end of the day though it doesn't matter, as everyone else says, the only date that matters is when your LO arrives.

But I would work off the revised date - it's been revised for a reason and it's the one on all the forms so it help me decide when to start maternity leave etc.

Most importantly it's the benchmark for inducing - I think my hospital only let you go ten days past your due date before recommending being induced (I think you can decide to wait longer though but I wouldn't want to risk it) - so my revised due date means the latest date to have my baby is definitively a week earlier than it was before! If that makes sense!

They've changed my due date!

My original date (based on my lmp) was 01/11. I was charting when TTC, so I'm confident of my LMP date.

When I had my dating scan they changed it to 22/10. However my dating scan was done at about 15 weeks and used the head circumference measurement, which I've read is less accurate.

I have tried to discuss this with MW, Sonographer, etc but they don't want to know. As far as they are concerned, they use the dating scan and that's it. I've been going by my dating scan date for maternity leave, etc. However if they want to induce me before 01/11 I will be arguing it.

well it just all depends on the doctor.. my doctor says oct 6th for my due date.. my 20 week scan said baby was measuring a smidge bigger due date oct 2... at a 35 week growth scan he was measuring 36+2 but she didnt change anything.. still goes by oct 6th.. so i just keep telling people im evicting him by at least september 30th... thats the last possible date.. so any time up until then :) LOVE C-sections!!!
