What about Katherine Anne? That way you can still use Katie as a nickname but she'll have more options when she's older as to what she wants to be known by.

I don't like naming kids one thing and calling them something else. My parents did that to me, and it's been exceedingly miserable constantly having to clarify that yes, that is me, I just go by a different name. It was especially aggravating when I enlisted in the military and had no choice but to be addressed by the legal, given name, which wasn't the name I'd gone by my entire life. It's a personal pet peeve of mine.
