Which spelling??

My daughter is Esmé Rose (pronounced Es-may). Haven't heard of the other spelling before. I have heard of Esmee which I think tends to be pronounced as Es-me. Some people do call her Es-me, but I don't really mind too much.

On a personal note - think carefully before spelling a name in an unusual fashion. I have a common name spelt in an unusual way. I spend my entire life telling people how to spell my name correctly, for them to tell me how weird it is to be spelt like that (like it is somehow MY fault my parents wanted to be Kre8tive!) and get things spelt incorrectly anyway!

Same here - my name is Kandis.

So when I say my name is Kandis, they say "Okay, C-a-n-d-...?" and I have to say "Actually, back up, start over, you need to start with a K" every single time. Uhg!

I've always preferred Esme and I think most people would know it's pronounced 'es-may'
