From 4 am onwards I´m often awake and fretting, this is the darkest time for me and I´m sure I´m not to the only one. I feel so hopeless and sure it will never happen so I make plans of action, normal ones like go to specialist, and less so like start a goat farm and live with goats instead of children.

And you guys? What do you do when the blues hit in the night?

yeah I have the same. I wake 4ish and I alternate between it will happen and why am I putting us through this it'll never happen. i too make plans to see RS again and even consider ISCI which in the cold light of day we decided not to do as we're lucky enough to have 2 children with us (my first baby Emily was born sleeping).
I too consider what animal would fill the house with the love and energy a new child would bring-I'm thinking springer spaniel!!
SIL baby due any day, I'm excited about being an Aunty but finding it a bit tough-i feel like a bitch because i have children and it's her time I just wish it was both our times.
Here's hoping it happens for us soon

Me too, I get sleepless nights worrying! Thinking it will never happen, I will never have children etc. I have to say it happens when I am close to AF... i always thought hormones were causing this worry but now reading your experiences it might me my mind playing up.

:haha: My alternative plans also involve pets... Buying a house with a big plot of land and have lots of recued greyhounds!

Did you test Natsby? :hugs:

Lots of :dust::dust::dust::dust::dust:

Nice to not feel alone but I´m sorry too, I don´t like to think of you guys suffering too.

Sus how would your cat react to lots of greyhounds? Mine won´t put up with any dogs within a 100yard radios but then I´m allergic too so it isn´t too serious a problem. Although I would love a rabbit but i think he would fight with it. Hence goats he can´t possibly do a goat any harm.

Lol i like the goat idea.

My cat already lives with a greyhound, she doesn't like it but after 8 years of sharing she is used to it! They just keep some distance between them.

I totally understand, I was awake at 3:30 a.m. last night and wasn't able to fall back to sleep until 5:30 a.m. only to be woken by my alarm at 6. It was the urge to pee and feeling very hot that woke me up but it was my racing mind that kept me awake.

The 2 ww is very hard, we have to take it one day at a time. Hugs!

I often wake up during the night, too. It's annoying. I pop in a movie right away to prevent my mind from wandering where it shouldn't. IDK why, but I have this feeling that it will never happen for us, so I tend to think about how nice life can be without kids.

Plus, I have some parenting experience and it's easy for me to remember how sometimes, parenting actually sucks.....sick babies, projectile vomiting in the kisser, sleepless nights, colic, diarrhea all over the 3rd and final crib sheet, no sleep, no freedom, no time to shower in peace, screaming baby in the carseat while you're driving, etc..

It's always in the 2ww when I have my sleepless nights.
I get very hyperfocused and wake multiple times during the night, then my brain feels wired and I can't go back to sleep.

Sometimes, I think I'll breed dogs. I'd love to have all of those little puppies around.

I use this particular defense mechanism as well!
Parenting isn't terribly pretty, lol. I think it gets glamourized when we want it so much, but reality is quite different.

It's interesting how it often happens in the 2ww.
Perhaps there is a hormonal component to the insomnia and worrying.

Absolutely.
If you look up symptoms of PMS, anxiety is at the top! It's one of the ways I know AF is coming

Damn hormones! :bike:

Agreed!
And, why is it that PMS crap is at it's worse the older you get? At least it is for me anyway.
Man, during the 2ww, I am an absolute nut-job! I actually look forward to AF because I know I'm going to be more mentally stable, lol.
I was ranting to a friend at the end of my 2ww and I was explaining to her my 'plan'. She very politely informed me that "Now is not really a good time for you to make decisions."

Point taken. . . . no major life decisions unless I'm in the follicular phase of my cycle!

I have to admit that I do feel a bit relieved when AF comes.
Shit....Does pregnancy feel like prolonged PMS?

No, although you do become a little wacky. My last pregnancy, I was actually very even tempered. . . not so much the first one, lol.

You never know what those hormones are going to do!

I know how you feel with PMS getting worse with age
Tell me about it! I am a nightmare!!! Sleep deprived, moody, with pains and aches... Blimey! reading this I recommend everbody to stay away from me the week before AF :haha::haha:

I have trouble sleeping during the tww because of anxiety, and now horrendous AF cramps have been keeping me up all night. :growlmad:

But I love that someone's always awake somewhere on B and B!

Man I've wondered about that as well... I don't get bad PMS in general, but I get waaaaay bloaty and my appetite is through the roof. If I'm like that for 9 months they'll have to roll me out the door by the end.
