Whos Birthday First?

Well its my birthday on the 27th of April and bubs due date is the 2nd of May. I have already decided he is not allowed to be born on my birthday, If istart having contractions Iwill just cross my legs and make him wait!

So who first me or him?

Yeah someone who isnt trying to give me a heart attack worrying about an early baby when Im not ready for it!

Well I will give you a bit more information. Noah was 9 days late but came naturally.

However this time round at my 34 week appointment I was told by consultant that the head was starting to engage 4/5s and at my midwife appointment 3 days later it had further engaged to 3/5s. Apparently its uncommon for the head to engage this early on a second pregnancy, and even on a first timer it doesnt tend to engage till 36 weeks onwards. But I will have no way of knowing if anything else is happening as I just have a consultant appointment at 37weeks, and then nothing till 40 weeks, unless bub is born by then!

Coby was 3/5 engage when i was 36 weeks and he wasnt early lol

Oh thats interesting to know layla, I got a bit worried when I found out it was unusual, I had visions of going ino labour next week lol!

How far past his due date was coby born?

I was induced, the hospital says i was 39 weeks, but i say i was 40 weeks lol

I had about a week of mild contractions but they never lead to anything.

forgot to metion, i kept loseing my show with Coby from quite early on, but it re formed as no labour happend, i think i had about 3 or 4 shows in total, so what out for this is your baby is engageing.

Thanks for the head up. Iguess thats why there was the worry about me going early, as my body has gone through labour before, the pressure of the head on the cervix so early can make you dilate a bit, hence having show.

yeah, everytime i had a show the midwife saw me, but i was told that if you dont go in to labour or your waters dont break then your body will re form another show, but Coby would press down even harder and i would lose it again. for the last 3ish weeks i was about 2cm dilated and the pressure pains where horrible!

Jase used to give me a sweep everynight (sorry if this is TMI for you! lol) and he could always feel the top of Coby's head, used to freak him out a bit lol

LOL blimey, I dont think OH will be trying that!

So it seems it may be possible for me to go early with it, it just depends if my body decides to co-operate and kick in with the contraction too. Will be nice if Ididnt make it all the way to term, less chance of having a whopper!

i think Coby wanted to come out but my body was saying no! altho once induced i went very quick, it was all over and done with after 3 hours lol

He was 9lb 7oz at teh hosptial dates of 39 weeks, they told me if i had gone to there date of 40 weeks he wouldnt have been able to get out that way lol as he got stuck slightly.

Lol I didnt realise Coby was spot on the same weight as Noah when he was born! Still at least Ihave a growth scan on the 16th April. Still have the option of a section if this one is showing huge.

Will bear that in mind with the birth though, cause last time it was the latent phase that was the most drawn out for me, so if I start dilating gradually in the run up beofre labour, Ibetter be prepared for this one to go quicker. Will take OH half hour to get home from work and an hour drive to hospital.
