Why do some people get SOOO mad at Read & Run????

It makes me laugh. All I think is *hormoooonesss*

I R&R all the time. Just because I'm on here doesn't mean I'm able to post, I'm often holding Lucas, or cooking dinner, or laying down in bed. I don't pay attention to views on my own threads or anyone elses'

I try not to R&R because i know how upset some people get, but i also dont get why. It doenst bother me at all, i never check how many views i get. You will never get it write with everyone, unless you agree with everything everyone says and sympathise with everything everyone says. i only do that if i actually agree or sympathise.

I always want to kick people who do this. Stop whining and Google it if you're that bothered!

I dont reply to everything (just most ;)) Sometimes I am just reading but busy.

I have a thread in the special needs support forum (that I actually really needed support for, but understandably there are very few people who can relate) and I did bump it up after it had about 24 hours with no replies.

I do read and run though (lots actually) because I don't always have something to say.

I usually only respond to a post if I really have something that I think will be helpful or if I have a point of view I want to add as a comment. If I have nothing useful to add, then I usually feel it is better for me not to say anything since it would not really be helpful.

I think some people get upset because they might feel like they are being ignored but it is usually nothing personal when people just "lurk" or "R & R."

I r&r'd on this topic but I've come back to confess :hugs: :haha:

I think there's a difference between bumping a thread and scolding people for not replying. :) Seeing someone write somethink like, "Hellooooo, thanks a lot for all the responses, ugh!" tends to turn me off of replying to that thread.

I just know that if no one replies to my threads that I just make some hot chocolate, wrap myself up in a warm blanket, and listen to Journey while crying ever so gently to myself.

I read and run all the time too. Especially the past month or two. I just don't feel like I have anything to contribute so I read and I'll respond if the mood strikes me. :haha: People take it far too personally. I actually think they should get rid of view counts in the entire forum. Too many people get upset about it.

That response usually makes me refresh my page several times to make it look like another 20 viewers have R&R

The funniest I've seen was once on the SAME day a poster did a thread and got arsey about people R&R (making a did at cliques and how people only reply to their friend's threads). Later that day they posted a controvertial Baby Club thread (CIO at a very young age) and was BOMBARDED with comments of everyone giving the same advice but disagreeing with the poster. She said she was bullied and ganged up on and that the thread didn't need EVERYONE to reply if they had nothing new to add... :dohh:

I don't care if people read and run my threads.

What I'm sick of is seeing the same handful of user names that seem to spend their time searching out topics in which they can tell the OP off.

LOL oh the irony. Think I remember the cliques thread, that was a couple of weeks ago now. What a laugh that was!

I also agree with the person who said to scrap the view counter in all areas since people can rely on it to much when it's not even accurate.

I read and run all the time cos I have nothing worthwhile to say :haha: :(

I dont see a problem with bumping up a thread, because sometimes the people with answers arnt online when you write it so bumping it gets more opportunity to get it seen.

More an issue when people start ranting on about their posts not being answered or they have been victimised or something equally dramatic. sometimes people just dont have answers for you at that time.

I don't care if I R&R and people get mad. WHO KNOWS why I didn't get around to responding to a thread on an internet forum- maybe my 2.5 year old needed me, I had to go to work, I had someone at my door, my power or internet went out, someone phoned me, I had to go start dinner, go to the washroom.. life happens!!

If a million people have already left hugs, I usually leave it, unless it's someone I know on the forum.. not even trying to be rude but I have an embarrassingly high post count lol, I don't want to make it to 25k any faster than I will already

LOL! Wow you do! I wonder if the post count eventually rolls over like the odometer on a car?? :p

I r&r all time... If I have nothing to say or no advice then what do people expect you to put!? If someone is down then yea I'll post a :hugs:
I'd rather have people r&r rather than read hundreds or 'I have no advice but didn't want to read and run' :dohh:

I r&r all the time,
i guess i just don't really give a shit what people think about it.
i have a life outside of the internet, so forgive me if i can't answer your question that 3 people have already answered already.
