im not sure how long my cycles last now that i just got my 1st actual period april 2nd after my depo ran out in february. i did take a test april 29th with really diluted urine and got a negative....just wondering if i could trust the results??? no period yet.....and my urine was like almost clear thats how diluted it was.....also i used a dollar tree test i kno those are really good.thanks

Yes, diluted urine will definitely affect the amount of HCG the test is trying to find in your urine. It is best to use FMU (first morning urine), or at least hold your urine in for a few hours before testing to get a more accurate result.
xx

As long as you tested with your first urine in the morning the tests should give you an accurate result. As you have just got your period I would recommend charting all your daily statistics, I use fertility friend (feel free to have a nosy) - I like keeping everything documented as it helps determine what to expect for upcoming months.

Good luck and keep us posted.

Definitely yes. When I poas I always pee in a cup and if urine isn't dark enough I throw it out and save my test for later!!!

Yes it will affect the results of a pregnancy test thats why they always say morning pee is better, as it has obviously been stored in your body overnight and while you sleep you arent drinking etc

what the users above have said - FMU is the best, or at least something non-diluted. :) you want the most concentrated for the best possible reading.

which is contradictory though to OPKs (or at least the ones I use), which recommend using urine later in the day.

do you know when you ovulated? if you have a "typical" 28 day cycle, you'd "probably" have ovulated between the 13 and 18 of April. I use these terms lightly because every woman is different, LOL, especially coming off birth control. but if you ovulated the 18th or later, it may just be too early to tell, also. :) hope this helps!
