Hi Ladies

Ok, im at my wits end so gonna just throw it out there and ask if anyone has, or knows someone who has been in a similar situation and found what is wrong, or if you have any advice etc. Plus I must add now, there is a TMI alert, but as I say, I just don’t know who to turn to.

In July I had a medically managed miscarriage. It was obviously very unpleasant and ever since I have had problems.

I went in on the Wed, and was home the next day. I was due back into work on the Monday, but decided I wasn’t quite ready, which was good as I ended up back in hospital in immense pain. They couldn’t find anything wrong and sent me home with painkillers and antibiotics.

Anyway, that soon passed with plenty of rest and I got back on with things. Obviously my husband and I are trying for a baby, but my cycles didn’t come back until November, so this month was only our 3rd time of trying since the MC and yesterday AF arrived. I was extremely upset, but to make matters worse I am in agony in pain! I totally understand after a MS that your AF can be heavy etc etc, but I have been to the docs every month with this and they just don’t seem to know what is wrong.

In Nov it was because of the MC, in Dec he said it was an anal fissure, gave me cream and stuff, and again now I am here at my desk and its ok until I try to walk, and I feel like my womb is being dragged out of me.

I had a third degree tear with my daughter who is now coming up 4, and ever since her birth ( ****** !! TMI ALERT !! ******) I really struggle to do a no 2, I hold myself (over pee and baby hole) with some tissue and it eases it out for some reason. And now AF is here I cant even pump without having the worst pains in my life drag through my insides.

Fair enough, I went the doc saying it hurt like buggery to do a no 2 and he suggested the anal fissure, but I have just noticed this time that if again I hold myself to do a no 2, it doesn’t hurt?!

The pain I have is like my insides are being dragged out of me. There is nothing there, it just feels like it is falling out! I literally cannot walk right now, it feels so painful. I am sat at my desk not moving as its ok to sit, but once I get up all hell breaks lose and I cant hide the pain im in.

Sorry to go into so much detail , but I feel so alone right now and I don’t know anyone who has experienced even a smidgen of what I have, I just don’t know who to turn to.

Thank you for listening to me drone on xxxx

ah hun sorry you are going through this. I can't offer you any advice but I didn't want to read and run
sending you a big hug
xxx

so sorry. I have had much heavier periods since my miscarriages. I dread AF for more reasons now, not just because we are not pregnant but because I am scared about how much pain I will be in. I feel your pain, in a small way anyway.
I have not had problems going #2 but I would insist the doctor see you again. Sometimes it can help to kick up a bit of a stink, then they will do something.
Good luck x

I didn't want to read and run either, i'm so sorry you are goin through this! i must be horrible. Is there any way you can get sent for some kind of tests?? Surely they must be able to find out if something is wrong or not. Hope it stops hurting and yo uget some answers soon :hugs:

I didn't want to read and run and I wish I could offer you some advice but i can't. Wishing you the best and hope you get some answers soon.

I would be asking your GP to refer you to a gynaecologist. They need to check how well the 3rd degree tear was mended, it may have left a weakness in the muscles around the back passage (although usually you would be incontinent if that had happened) or there could be scar tissue causing the pain. It can't always be assessed properly without special ultrasound and pressure testing, not something a GP can do.

Thank u all so much! I know it's like searching for a needle in a haystack trying to c if any1 else has been through this, buts it's reassuring to know ppl r there to just listen if nothing else.

I feel daft n stupid about the situation, but Im gonna go the docs n demand they refer me for some sort of tests, it's just too weird to happen just when AF is visiting and the pain I'm feeling.

I'm feeling a little more hopeful tbh, thanks ladies!

Xxx

Hi Dawny

So sorry your having all these problems, I had a few and got my doc to send me for a scan about 6mths after mc to check if things were ok in there, they found a polyp and i am having this removed soon (not saying thats what you have as symptoms are different) but just good to get checked out by a gynaecologist.

Good luck :hugs:

I also have much heavier periods after my MC in August and they are now very painful. I can't say I have experienced any problems with #2's.

Hi Dawny,
I would definitely have a specialist look at it. What you're going through sounds different from typical post MC stuff. Have you ever heard of a cystoclele, enterocele, rectocele? I obviously wouldn't diagnose myself over the internet, but some of the things you described sort of sound like that. I believe it is when part of another organ (rectum, bladder, or intestines, etc) pushes into the vaginal wall. Anyway, check out this website because it sort of describes some of what you were mentioning. I think it is worth getting a specialist to check it out -- for peace of mind and to feel like you are really addressing your problem! Here is something I found online:

https://www.merckmanuals.com/professional/sec18/ch250/ch250b.html

Again, it is sort of just a shot in the dark, something I thought of - so take it with a grain of salt .. Hope you find some answers from your doctor soon!!

hi. after both my miscarriages i experienced intense pain when doing a no2. it was like someone was sticking a poker up my bum! i miscarried 3 weeks ago and it is finally starting to ease now. it's like a real shooting pain going right through you. i didn't have very painful, heavy periods though. i remember after the 1st miscarriage, getting ready to go to a family wedding and crying because of these pains in my bum, i seriously thought i wouldn't be able to go. it would be hard to imagine if you haven't felt it urself!
i hope you get some answers and please let us know what docotr says. take care.

Thank you to you all, n Kaylalin that's a fab link thanks! I was beginning to think I was going to b a freak of nature going the docs and demanding to c a specialist with all the symptoms I have but those really do describe the pain I feel! I'm not saying I have one of those, but it sure helps me explain to my doc what I'm going through!

I'm booked in at 3.30 today with a new, just qualified dic n will tell him every little detail to make him book me in with a gynaecologist, someone more in the knowledge of womens problems.

Honestly ladies, thank you, your words mean a lot xxxxx

Well just to update you all I saw the doc and he has referred me to gyenocology at a local hospital requesting an ultrasound n swabs to get the investigation rolling. He said it could b many things, but has suggested endometriosis maybe mixed with something else and also put me on a course of antibiotics to zap any infection if it could b that.

I thought I'd have to wait ages but iv got in on the 15th! Fab news!

So fingers crossed they find an answer n I'm not a freak for much longer!

I'll let u know how I get on, thanks for the continued support ladies xxxx

Thats great, glad they can see you so quickly. Keep us updated!
