whats money worth against the cost of someones life?! ... the fact is we stick our noses in all the time anyways ! so why stop now ?! ;P ... also if we just kept out all the time then a lot of wars would of ended differently ?... and also we prob wouldn't be at war now if we kept our noses out but we don't

Very true but then again our government is cutting NHS funding which could also cost someone their life if we can't fund our own health service to protect life then we shouldn't be throwing money at other countries

I really feel for the woman, but like blah said, the UK doesn't rule the world

If we didn't take this view South Africa would still have apartheid, Hitler would have control of a big bit of Europe, the USSR would still be sending people to Siberia, Saddam would have taken over Kuwat, the Israelis would have wiped the Palestinians off the face of the earth. It is injust and we SHOULD interfere - I'm not meaning with a war, but through pressure and sanctions and condemnation.

I don't think we *shouldn't* try to do something about this, but I do think we should be careful not to let our moral/cultural views influence the way we see this.

I do think it is a barbaric practise, I am not debating that at all (and I don't think anyone else is). I would much prefer that it didn't happen.

Little uncalled for, we're all human beings.. just have different opinions on his subject. We all agree it's wrong the way theyre treating her.

I agree with you. I was reading the article earlier in the paper and i felt physically sick looking at the picture and hearing about how these people are killed.

I understand that some cultures are different to our own-but the surely the issue here is the unfairness of the so called 'trials'. Because women are seen as less important than men, it takes alot less 'evidence' to find women guilty of adultery than men. I think we should be getting involved-and i can't believe people think saving money 'for our country' is more important than showing a little humanity to somebody else. Like MLYN said, if we don't challenge nothing changes.

We can't afforf to sort out every other country as well as ours.

I'm pretty sure we let hitler do whatever the hell he wanted until he invaded a country we were allied with so its not like we just waded in and did the moral thing, we did what was in our best interests as a country.

Just because we don't agree with it doesn't mean we have the right to question them.

She broke the law over there and must have know she shouldn't have been doing that.

We can't go on some crusade and make everyone believe the same thing. Its not going to happen and if we tried people in this country would end up dying

I agree it's a hard one-i don't believe we can sit here and condemn their culture, it is just that-everyone born into that culture will live by the rules-or not and face the consequences. And yes i'm sure there are Laws and regs within our own culture that other countries don't like/understand but i do believe in a fair trial, and i do believe we should be involved when that quite clearly has not happened-and i wil never believe that money should be a reason for not stepping in.

Many people on here argued that they would quite happily allow their CTF and CTC to go to help their children have a better future-i would quite happily sacrifice mine to help people in less fortunate situations, ie like this.

But that's the whole point-this woman was not proven to have broken the Law, the Judges who condemned her to death decided she was guilty due to feeling that their decision was right, rather than having any evidence against her.

i understand what your saying about stepping in and helping but where do we draw the line? we can't step in on every single one of these cases (for this 1 case there are most like 1000 that we don't know about), we can't control/change an entire culture based purely what we as a culture believe

The fact that it was an unfair trial is the bit that's making me think we should step in. It's difficult, because to them (if she was guilty), this isn't a petty crime, it is a serious one.
