i know you wanted advice form those who have experienced it - and I've not - but I thought I'd give my bit anyway!!!
I get 4 months maternity adn then i can apply for an extra year iof leave without pay, which I will do.
I will see if I need to work after this time or if we can afford for me to not work just yet.
I really do not want to put baby into childcare if I can avoid it until he/she can speak. I wouldnt feel happy leaving him with anyone but family until he/she can at least tell me "mummy that person hurts me".
Thats what worries me.
And I want to be there for every minute - I dont want to miss the fun!
Also, I dont love my job enough - if I was at work and not with baby I'd feel I was missing out and wouldnt want to be at work! I'd be a rubbish employee!
A colleague of mine says it is hard to work after baby (she's had two) and that she does struggle sometimes being jealous of her child minder!!
