Hey gals,
Just wondering if anyone is working right now and how you deal with the exhaustion. I'm a teacher so I was lucky to be off work for the majority of my 1st tri. I'm 14 weeks and I head back to work in two weeks (16 weeks gest), But I am soooo tired still! I have no motivation to do my regular housework let alone get out of bed!
Before pregnancy I was a cleaning frequently (DH always said I was OCD about my house and classroom). I have two older sons who help out a lot but i just cant get the motivation to do anything!
I wake up at 6am and eat breakfast and try to start my day but i end up so tired that I fall asleep on the couch or in a chair til at least 10am everyday but I'm asleep by 8:30 every night! How can I deal with working with 7 year olds everyday if I can't keep my eyes open?
Any tips for natural energy boosters? Will this pass soon?

Im sooooo tired, i work and it sucks, i cant keep mt eyes open its terrible, but i have GD too, but no tips because nothing helps me either lol, just have to deal with it

I don't think this will help - but as soon as I feel tired I sleep. For me it's easy because I work for my father, but I guess in a classroom you just can't take a nap. Can you try waking up later? or napping straightaway once you get home? I hope it passes for you quickly.

I was really tired at your stage too. Speak to work and organise extra breaks to re charge? x

I'm hoping so! With luck I can sleep a little later than I normally did last year. (needless to say a few morning routines are gonna change) having a limited wardrobe will help save time. As for the afternoon naps, I really hope I can nap when I get home. I HAVE to be at school from 8am-4:oopm but that doesn't leave me any time to plan or grade so I will defiantly by trying to manage my time better.
The hardest part will bet the fact that I have always done most of my planning and grading at home in the evenings or between 6:30-8:00 am at school. really going to have to work on my scheduling.

I had terrible insomnia in the late 1st/early 2nd trimester. I'm not working but still had to wake up early to take my two to preschool and kindergarten and then pick them up at different times. I use to take vitamin water with me and sip on it when I felt like I was going to crash, as well as cans of v8 juice and protein snacks. I never felt 100%, but these things did help a bit.

I'm working, and I'm exhausted! All I can basically say is I feel you - sometimes I'm little more than asleep on my feet, so to speak. I try to take breaks and rest when I can, but I basically just slog through the day. Try to have snacks that give you energy, proteins and natural sugars (like peanut butter and apples, hummus, etc). It gives me a bit of a pick-me-up at least for a little bit.

I read it should get better after month four so there's a little light at the end of the tunnel :)

Hate to say it but it got alittle better for me around month four, but it doesn't go away im still so exhausted and drained all the time

For me, I started feeling more myself around fifteen weeks. Up until that point, Monday-Friday I just came home and crashed for an hour after I got home and made myself move again. Now I get tired, but it's not the dead tired fatigue like before and I just try to keep busy because the less I do, the less I have energy to do.

I also had this problem up until 4 months, i just felt like i needed to lie down all day but it did get better. I'm still tired but not as bad as it was, its bareable now. I would say to try and keep busy in the day so your body can fully rest at night and you can get yourself into that routine. Keep head up and spirits high, its all part of the process and it will get better. :hugs:

I worked up until the day I went into labor with my firstborn. It was really hard. Just take it as easy as you can, eat frequent snacks to help keep energy up. When you can't nap, try to get up and do something (if you happen to be sitting down as I often was). It'll get your heart pumping more and help keep you awake. Eventually that period of extreme tiredness in the day passes. I had at least two everyday...one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Most people hit a point a few weeks into second tri where the tiredness goes away. I hope that happens for you.

This pregnancy I am not working since we made the decision for me to stay home with my son after he was born. But, I have to say, it isn't any easier. Sometimes it's harder. He just turned 10 months old and you can't reason with a baby. Me being tired doesn't always line up with him being tired. It's exhausting watching him every second. And, when he is sleeping, I have to choose between sleeping or getting something else done. I'm still in that crazy tired phase. It's hard. Enjoy what is left of your break and try to work through the tiredness best you can, but don't over do it.
