hi all, my husband is abou to be made redundant and i've got 4 months lkeft of MA and then that's it-i will be working 18hrs a week in a nrsery on minimum wage :( been looking at jobs sites and found a few that claim you can work from home using your computer but does anyone have any actual experience of this or all they all just scams? other ideas for working from home also appreciated (not adult chatlines though) xx

I have tried checking online too for working at home jobs, and i always thought they were scams...So now i just ended up opening up my own cleaning business!! I can work whatever days and times i want! Its quite nice and its good money!!!

Do you want to work at home cause you want to be with LO?

I have 2 so cant afford to put them both in childcare and it wouldnt be worth it for what id earn anyway!

A friend of mine makes bits n pieces of things from home: im sure she wont mind me telling you her facebook page is called "motherly love" if u wanna have a peek? She makes teddies, personalised baby blankets, tooth fairy bags & is gonna b branching out into wedding stuff too eg favours

I work from home on my computer as a medical transcriptionist. It required a course which I took online and completed in 6 months, and I'm now working. Pay is based on production though, so slow earning initially. Probably not best if you're in a real fix and need urgent work, but I did it to ultimately be able to be a SAHM (well, WAHM) when I'm blessed with children. I researched for months before starting the course and knew for sure it wasn't a scam.

I am very interested in this, what company is it? What course did you do and how much was it? this sounds ideal for me, definitely willing to do a course.

I took the course through Ozetrainer here in Australia, though lots of overseas girls (and a few guys) have taken it with them as well. Working for OzeScribe who is basically partnered with the school and hires pretty much all graduates (98-100%). There are lots of places to take the course, but none I have found who practically offer a guarantee of a job immediately after graduating. I will PM you with more information if you wish.

Yeah that would be great thank you

Have you ever check out leapforce.com or Lionbridge work from home careers? It's free to register and submit your application, you never have to pay a fee of any sort. The job involves on rating websites based on their category sets. You get paid hourly for browsing the sites and mark their categories. For Leapforce though, you will have to take their online exams. There's nothing more to it other than online screening questions and taking their online exams if you're qualified. The pay is good, you set your own hours. And these jobs can be done anywhere in the world.

I had a guy in to service my boiler the other week and he was telling me that British Gas Customer Services Reps all work from home - his daughter does it. They have a login system, so they can see when your online working - you use the online system to take calls and log details etc (basically you remote into their central system). Why dont you get in touch!

Not all work-from-home jobs are scams, but you'll need to thoroughly research the subject before signing up at a WFH portal. Try careers like medical transcriptioning or medical billing and coding. You may need vocational training for it, like the short online programs in Medical Transcription that CareerStep offers in the United States. Good luck with your search!

i think anything done online would take time to learn. best to get a job first and then learn the ropes of a business. bar work, cleaning etc. The cleaning business sounds like a good one.

Although there are lots of people who need people to write for them online. You could check out freelance sites I am guessing. or learn web design and again do freelance.

Some of the ideas most common source of business that would be more appropriate for women -

1. Writing online

Today, the online writing professions are one of the finest ways to make money. These jobs are suitable for the basic reason you need to tour anyplace as well as waste precious time traveling, and use any spare time, as well as make the best use of it. In addition, there is no basic requirement required for that you may be applicable in this area. Anyone with good language skills and can test on a particular topic can make professional writing.

2. Day Care

This is a fast growing and highly demanding business. By increasing the number of working couples, the need for day care is at the top. Those who adore kids and have the basic eagerness as well as patience to deal with small ones van open a day care center. Although you must have the appropriate infrastructure needed, besides licensing, planning and assistance to make your favorite nursery.

3. Hobby

There are lots of talented ladies like that can be sewn to perfection, you can sculpture or paint etc. Furthermore there are a number of people who like to study this art as well as skill also. You can start a training center or even be a career choice and sew or paint online auction!
