Before I was pregnant (or knew I was pregnant) I was getting back in the routine of at least working out 3 times a week. The workouts that I was doing was step areobics, kick boxing and weight lifting (not real heavy weights, but enough to feel the burn). I found out I was pregnant on the 13th and have only worked out once since then. For the past couple of weeks I have felt really queasy and tired. Today I am feeling great and ready to get back to working out so I don't gain extra unwanted weight. My doctor said it was okay for me to workout but to take it easy, when I first found out I was prego (which I can do easier workouts, no prob..). One question that I have is can you do crunches while pregnant or does anyone do these? Sorry if that was a stupid question. This is my first pregnacy and I just want to be healthy, but the only thing that ever sounds good to me is fast food or pizza (not good for you at all, but I only eat 3 meals a day and keep it pretty small, for the most part). I'm just asking if I have gone too long without working out to start back up again? It's only been 2 weeks, but feels like forever. I think I would feel better if I worked out. Please let me know what you think. Sorry so long. By the way, I see my OB on the 10th, I don't know how far along I am. My last period was on 10/8/07 so I am guessing 4-5 weeks or so??

If I am to be totally honest I would say DONT DO IT!!..It is only my opinion but I think if you were to work out & start cramping or bleeding you would blame yourself. Maybe go for a long walk or something gentle like swimming...But as I said it is only my view on it & it is up to you.....Congrats on your BFP I think we will be due around the same time going by your LMP

Thank you for your response. There is a walking excercise on On Demand that I can do. I'm not sure what all you do on that excercise tv (probably just walk in place or something). I can view it before I do it. Thank you for being honest and not just pushing an answer out there, I appreciate it. Congrats on your baby bump as well, hope you have a happy and healthy journey. :happydance:

My last period was Oct. 1st, and I still do crunches. In fact, I did some the night before last. *shrugs*

If your last period was 8 October then you are just over 7 weeks??? thats when my last one was around abouts x

I would check with my GP or midwife about exercising. They can usually provide you with a list of approved things such as swimming, walking yoga etc.

I've been doing yoga throughout and it's helped loads. Just stay away from anything vigorous or anything that causes to big an increase in your heart rate.

i wouldnt. I'm all about being as gentle to my tummy as possible!
i dont even like doing too much bending "just in case"!!
