Would I be super cheap if I...

I'm not feeling the newspaper thing the more I think about it! Sounds really messy!

 My mom used to do this with birthday presents, be warned it will leave black ink on your hands

It kinda defeats the point of saving money, but if you got some art spray sealant (the sort you use on charcoal artwork etc - I LOVE it!) and sprayed the newspaper before you used it to wrap, the ink shouldn't rub off! :)

xx

I think it looks really cute! But on the other hand I do love seeing the presents under the tree all wrapped in Christmassy paper.

I dont see anything wrong with it lol.So much paper goes to waste its unreal x

I love it :) You could also use brown paper with ribbon! Although I think the ribbon would cost more than wrapping paper would :D

Ergh, I hate it! But then, I have a wrapping paper fetish... I spend more time picking it out and styling it up than I do on the actual presents! Have been known to spend more on the box/wrapping paper ensemble than the present itself.

If you like it, go for it. I just prefer to see things looking extra special once wrapped.

i hate ink on my hands from newspaper,,then you touch your face ect. and its everywhere lool..so i wouldnt do it, but it looks ok actually, even so you can get wrapping paper in the poundshop now, i went to card factory and got my wrapping paper for like 80p a roll :) xx

noooo, wrapping paper can be so cheap there's no need, asda do roll's of 8m for £1. It's once a year, push the boat out lol xx

i dont like the newspaper idea, but i have used the brown paper and ribbon idea before and it looked lovely, i had little tags on matching the ribbons and everyone commented, then we recycled the paper. But newspaper... err.. not so sure about that. I think brown paper can be more classy than newspaper and is just as cheap, - and avoids the ink problem

Last year for Christmas I had a scarf as part of my present from one of my friends and it was used to wrap the other things! The same friend has just wrapped a birthday present in tin foil and prides herself on using bits and bobs from around the house to wrap things up! So I don't think there's anything wrong with using newspaper! Perhaps you could use the scarf idea- it was a really nice surprise when I realised that I had an extra present and it looked really pretty!!

Beca
