Hey there girls... i have written and put together our ceremony.... what do you all think?? Is it ok???
Introduction
Friends, Allan and Amanda have invited us here today to share in the celebration of their marriage. We come together to recognize not the start of a relationship but a bond that already exists. We are here, not only to witness, their commitment to each other, but also to wish them well and every happiness in their life together.
Allan and Amanda you have come her today from your varied life experiences to make public the commitment you have made, each to the other.
You come to combine your two separate lives into one. Although you will be sharing one life, never forget you are two separate people. Cherish and affirm your differences, love each other and keep your commitment first and foremost.
Together you will laugh and cry, be sick and well, be happy and angry, share and grow. You will grow sometimes together and sometimes separately. But never remain stagnant.
Life is always changing and always new.
Remember to always valve each other. Although you will disagree, respect each others feelings, need and wants.
And above all never lose your sense of humour.
It is a statement of commitment to each other and to the ideals they already have.
They know that they can never take their relationship for granted.
They know that they have found in each other that unique, yet mysterious quality whereby they know that they are meant for only each other.
This marriage encourages us all. For when a man and a woman find joy and happiness in giving and caring, it says something to us all.
Today we are all here to celebrate Allan and Amandas love and to be influenced by it.
Giving away of the bride
Who brings this woman to be married to this man?
Allen Gill says : I do
Are you willing now and always to support this marriage by upholding both Amanda and Allan with your love and support?
Allen Gill Says: I do
To make this relation work takes more then just love. It takes trust to know in your hearts that you want only the best for each other. It takes dedication to stay open to one another, to learn and grow, even when it is difficult to do so. It takes faith to go forward without knowing what the future holds for you both. While love is our natural state of being, these other qualities are not as easily to come by. They are not a destination, but a journey. And on any journey, it is great to have your soul mate and your best friend to share it with.
I would like to take this opportunity to read a poem that Allan and Amanda have chosen to share with you all.
Today I tie the know with my friend,
The one I have laughed with and cried with,
The one I have learned from and shared with,
The one I chosen to support,
Encourage and give myself holey to
Through all the days given to us to share
Today I tie the knot with the one I love for life.
The Asking
Allan, will you take Amanda to be your lawful wife, will you love her, comfort her, honour and keep her, in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto her, so long as you both shall live?
Allan Fox says: I do
Amanda, will you take Allan to be your lawful husband, will you love him, comfort him, honour and keep him, in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto him, so long as you both shall live?
Amanda Gill says : I do
Vows
Celebrant quietly asks the couple to face each other , look at each other, hold both hands and repeat the vows, phrase by phrase after her
Allan repeats after Jacqui :
In the presence of these witnesses I pledge to be true to you,
To respect you,
And to grow with you through the years.
Time may pass, fortune may smile, trails may come.
But no matter what we may encounter together,
I vow that this love will be my only love.
I make my home in your heart from this day forward.
Amanda repeats after Jacqui :
In the presence of these witnesses I pledge to be true to you,
To respect you,
And to grow with you through the years.
Time may pass, fortune may smile, trails may come.
But no matter what we may encounter together,
I vow that this love will be my only love.
I make my home in your heart from this day forward.
The couple stay in the same position. The celebrant takes the brides ring from the best man, gives it to the groom who hold it over the edge of the appropriate finger and says the works, phrase by phrase after the celebrant. After the words are finished the groom than slides the ring onto the brides finger (Repeat for bride) .
Ring Ceremony
Allan and Amanda ;
Amanda, with this ring, I give you my personal gift, my personal promise of love and trust and pride that you are my wife.
Amanda to Allan:
Allan, with this ring, I give you my personal gift, my personal promise of love and trust and pride that you are my husband.
Ladies and Gentleman, Allan and Amanda have declared before all of us that they will live together in marriage, they have made special promises to each other. They have symbolised it by joining hands, taking vows and by exchanging rings. So therefore on your behalf and on behalf of the community I now declare them to be husband and wife
Allan you may kiss your bride
