Young kids and the subjects they talk about

Why is it that young kids like to laugh and have conversations about pooping and farting?

Surely, there's better things to talk about.

It's not only kids... Where I was working before we used to have a meeting every tuesday with the president and vice-president (about 50ish yrs old) and it would often end up into some nasty conversation... Very very professional!
