Hi everyone,

I am 20 (not technically a teenager but still young) and am pregnant.

My last period was 1st June and I assume that means I am just over 6 weeks pregnant.

I was in a relationship but partner (26) left me for his ex and we are not on speaking terms anymore after bad arguments and difficult situations. He is aware I am pregnant but says he wants nothing to do with me or baby, but keeps ringing me and asking if I am defo pregnant.

I am not sure what to do, my family would not approve but then I have had an abortion before (with ex's baby) and hated it and still am not over it now.

Is anyone in a similar situation and how did you decide what to do?

Thanks xx

hi!

i dont really have much advice but didnt want to read and run.

it sounds that ur ex does care a little bit..in a weird way...cause if he didn't he wouldn't ring you about u being pregnant.

if you have had an abortion before and are still not over it..then..it sounds like you have pretty much answered your question about what you are going to do about that.

im sure you would make a great mum! there are lots of single mum's out there that do just fine on their own!!

and the situation about your family...its your body..therefore you should decide what you want to do.

good luck!

Have you taken a test to confirm your pregnancy hon?

I'd just like to agree with the first reply, if you've had an abortion before and you're still not over it then it would seem that isn't an option for you this time around. And your family may just surprise you, i've known quite a few people in this situation and usually things all work out fine xx

yh once you have a conformed test then you decide what to do, i think you answered your own question about abortions.

im 17 an 16 when i got pregnant, i thought my family would freek out but they are better than u think, you just need to give them time to adjust to the idea, remember its a shock to them to.

hope all goes well x

well i agree with the girls if your still not over your last abortion then i think you have answered your own question, there is no reason why you wouldnt be a great mother i was 20 when i became preg with ellie and i love being a mum, your family may surprise you and even if they are shocked to begin with when the baby comes they will all love it and wont want it any other way. but just remember its your life your body and dont let other people make the discion for you.:hugs:

I'm 20 too and unexpectedly got pregnant and now single :) Life is charming, hey?

We have a single parents sub-fourm and we are all around the same age there (18-22ish but a few older and younger). You should come over and we'll help you sort through it all because we've all been there/are there in the last few months :)

Second this post!

I am 19,pregnant and single.
It's definitely not something you plan but definitely something you can do.If thats the path you decide to go with.

If you have confirmed your pregnancy than it's time for you to do some serious thinking to do.
Abortion will always be something that will leave a scar but it doesn't meant that it isn't the best thing for you.
But again,if you aren't 100% sure than don't.If you belive in your ability as a parent than don't go through with it.

I wish you good luck! xxx

Thanks for all your replies girls.

I have done a test and even had an early scan done (and although tiny) it is there. I don't know I change my mind every day, yesterday I was sure I was keeping baby and today I just think can I do it all alone, what am I going to do for money and a job afterwards.

Thanks alot though girls it really does help hearing you opinions xxx

those things tend to sort them selfout, there is always help on offer. the most important thing is you being sure.

hope all goes well and congradz on your little bump xx
