Anyone heard of or read the book for the 17 day diet! I've done it this week and in the first 5 days i've lost 5lbs! I'm not hungry ever, the food is super yummy and I don't have to exercise 5 hours a day! Really loving this diet, wondering if others have used it I think its fabulous so far!

The diet changes every 17 days so your body doesn't get stuck in a rut and plateau your weight. You do 4 cycles of 17 days. The first cycle you can loose 10-20lbs healthily then the next two you continue to drop weight and the last one is maintaining your new weight :) You work out only 17 minutes a day and follow the menu's provided. You get to eat 3 meals a day and 2 snacks. Fruit, veggies, meat and dairy. It's pretty awesome as I'm never hungry and if I am there is usually a snack available I can have.

There is a show here in the U.S. not sure if its overseas called The Doctors and its a panel of doctors that give tips and stuff to stay healthy. The had the author on and they swore by his book. So I went on amazon and found it and seems pretty well known.

bought the book - got half way through, and get bored. glad to hear it works though!

I'll let you know how it goes, mostly the large weight loss is in the beginning and mostly for people who have a huge amount to loose.

The guy that wrote it is a doctor so I guess if he is doing something thats wrong in his book people would call him on it. Guess i'll see how it goes.

I really want to know more about this i'm googling right now!
I'm doing the cabbage soup diet but its so boring!

There is a good description in the beginning of his book and its displayed on the page.

You can also go to his website www.17daydiet.com

There are some great yummy recipes in the book and he literally gives you a menu for everyday of the diet :)

I've ordered the book online, and downloaded the slow cooker recipes off amazon, as am using my slow cooker some days to save time in the evenings

Good! I hope it works for you too! There is even a diet for the week your on your period. The PMS exception diet and I think it's fab. I find it hard to stay on a super strict diet when i'm on my period and i'm bloated and hungry haha. We use the slow cooker too and we bought a George Foreman grill so we could get our meat the leanest possible. :)

I'm wondering about the recipes though cause some of the ingredients are american & i don't know what the uk equivalent will be

Which ones? Maybe I can help. My mom does a great deal of cooking and knows a lot of that stuff. Or you can probably look online through Google :)

I'll try googling them when I come to buying ingredients, otherwise I will ask you - thank you

I'm new on here...TTC with PCOS and my weight has spiraled out of control. This diet sounds interesting. I would like to follow along and see how you do. Good luck!!

Thank you! :)

I started the diet last monday i was 191.8lbs as of today tuesday i'm down to 185. I feel great! The food is great and i love all the yummy recipes. The biggest thing is green tea with meals and cutting out sugars and bad carbs. I eat lots of chicken, fish, and ground turkey and lots of cleansing veggies, fruit before 2pm and probiotic yogurts or dairy products. You get 3 meals and 2 snacks a day so your not starving and the work out isn't ridiculous though I do run daily on the treadmill as I love it. Also drinking lemon water to help with your digestive system! Good luck with everything I hope you the best on your TTC journey :hugs:
