1st fertility clinic appt...

Hi ladies. Bit of background info on my ttc journey.

We are now on cycle 18 ttc with not even a hint of bfp. Ive had blood work done for all sorts of things and I have high testosterone levels!! Haven't got pcos as no cysts!! Oh had sa and he is fine

I have my 1st appt on 5th June and was wondering what I should expect as already done lots of different blood tests and internal ultra sound and oh had sa.

Hi Zelly1,

Everyone situation is different. With me - I also had few blood tests and scans etc. before I was refereed to the GYN/Fertility clinic. The appointment they just spoke to me and my husband about the process/IVF etc. and so they send for blood scan and internal scan to check if everything was ok, they asked me regarding my period patten (Which is a mess as I have PCOS) ... and from there my journey began.

Hope that helps. But like I said everyone 1st appointment will vary. x

Everyones journey is different.

The thing I remember about my first appointment was the dr going on and on about how 80% of people get pregnant within the first year. then he did the breakdown of that 80% of how fast most people - not me - normally get pregnant. I think he was trying to let me know that I was not normal ... but I already new that, I was having a fertility appointment. Think of your first appointment as a very heart renching lecture. Thats what mine was like.
I hope your appointment was better than mine!

We then followed that with blood work, ultrasounds then finally an HSG. Ouch!
Hubby got a SA completed at the beginning since that was the easiest thing to do for him and his results are fine.

Have a Lap booked for June to see if anything else is going on but never had an exporitory cycle, never been on any drugs as he thinks I am ovulating monthly.

Thanks for replying ladies.

I'm hoping they don't get me to do blood work again as had all that done at various times throughout my cycle. During AF, after and 21 days!! All just a few weeks ago.

Just have to wait and see I suppose...
