2 lh surges in one cycle

I got my first smiley face on digital opk on cd 12 so DH and I bd'd cd 10, 12, cd13 and cd14 but then quit as we thought we were good....got a twinge on my left side on cd 16 (late night) and low and behold another smiley face, but DH was sick so no more bding.

I called clearblue easy and they told me its the first surge to go by and asked me why i tested again but they always go by "once you get first smiley stop testing, why they say that).........i have been reading online and most people think the second surge was successful ovulation. I am so mad!

I also have the cbfm that i use ( only reason i used digital opk was they were left over from last month) and i got a high on cd 12, peak on cd 13 and cd 14 and high on cd15

has this happened to anyone else?

Hi,

I had the same thing last month where my tests put me at ovulating a week and a half apart (I have long cycles so I test a few times just in case!!) - I emailed the company that I got my tests from and they confirmed that you can actually ovulate twice in the same cycle! Babydust to you ; o )

Same thing happen to me this month. On CD 15 I had a smiley but my cervix was low still and I usually ovulate on 17 so I just didn't believe it and kept testing. On CD 20 I got another smiley, cervix high and open and smiley on CD 21. I had ovulation pains on 20 so I feel like it happened on 20. And sometimes we may gear up to ovulate and don't. But I really don't think at CD15 I was ready and I stopped temping so can't confirm it. It's also strange I would ovulate late too. I keep thinking back as my fertility specialist said to me one time opks are not as effective even by blood as a ultrasound is. I'm starting to hate them! Lol!

i am starting to hate them too! i used the digital opk in january and actually conceived but sadly that ended in m/c at 8 weeks......but now i feel as my body is out of whack! i am trying to temp but we will see if i can keep up with temping.......

I'd read about this happening in a magazine once. I can't post any links because I have fewer than 10 posts, but if you google the sentence below it will take you to an article in the New Scientist Magazine. Very interesting reading especially if it is true!!
