Hi all,

Hoping for some input. This is my fourth pregnancy, have one living 7 year old. 2 mmcs, 1 blighted ovum. In EVERY other pregnancy, I had terribly sore boobs from the get go.

Today I am 4 w 4 d along, and have not one symptom. Bfp's, doctor confirmed. That's IT.

Wondering if this one is doomed for certain, if maybe my body is handling the HCG better, or what?

I've had one beta, another next week and an ultrasound scheduled for a little less than 2 weeks. I promised DH I wouldn't obsess this time around but I guess that is next to impossible.

All I know at this point is that the hpt's are getting darker.

I would LOVE to hear any thoughts...

Thanks

This is the first pregnancy out of 5 where I have had any symptoms at all. Fx'd for your next bloods, but, if the hpt's are getting darker, I'm sure you have nothing to worry about :-) xx

With my first pregnancy I had sore boobs, nausea, totally exhausted right away which resulted in miscarriage. My last one with my son, other than being a bit tired, I had absolutely no symptoms whatsoever. I didn't feel or look pregnant at all until I hit 18 weeks or so.

After a miscarriage its scary--those symptoms kind of confirm that the pregnancy is still there, and when there are none its an extra worry that something has happend and you just don't know. Thats what I'm going through now--nausea disappeared around week 7 or 8...now I feel nothing...is the baby ok? Did I have a miscarriage and just don't know it yet because I'm not bleeding like last time? I don't have a scan for a couple more weeks, so I'm just waiting now. I hate this :nope:

Each pregnancy is different and can have different symptoms and LOTS of women have no symptoms at all (which is what I keep reminding myself about! haha). Maybe since this pregnancy is different than the other ones that resulted in m/c, THIS one will be your rainbow baby? Lots of rainbow dust for you, good luck! :dust: :dust: :dust:

It's hard not to over-analyze every little thing with your pregnancy when it's a pregnancy after a loss. I've been there way more than I care to admit (see my ticker for my history) and I've worried about every little ache, twinge, imagined amount of blood with all of my pregnancies. I've also learned that stressing out about no symptoms can actually lead to no symptoms. It's hard not to stress (believe me, I know) but just take things step by step and try to relax when you can. Pamper yourself a bit. You deserve it! Good luck!

Hey girl, I know your fear. I have no symptoms either. I had very sore boobs with my last 2 pregnancies and they both ended in MMC. I wish I had nausea. I would gladly vomit a few times per week if it meant a healthy little one. I think that it is normal to scrutinize every little symptoms after losses. When there are no symptoms, we panic. I have heard from other women that their symptoms did not really start until around 6 weeks or so. I hope both of us are hit with reassuring symptoms soon! Big hugs. :hugs:

Thanks Ladies,

I appreciate your thoughts. I'm relaxing a bit now. What will be will be...

(Hah! Just realized I had posted to you, DrAmy. But I blame it on baby brain.)

I'm just like you-4+1 (just got my 'official' bfp yesterday on a digi and waiting on the dr to call with my hCG numbers) and no real symptoms yet. I'm terribly scared this pregnancy is going to end as a chemical as I had a short luteal phase this month according to my opks and I have no symptoms I can say are truly pregnancy symptoms-no sore boobs, no puking my guts out, no starving all the time, no weird craving, no odd dreams, no extra cm, no nothin'. DH thinks it's the fact that I'm stressing about this and that my symptoms are all in my head anyway. I just want to 'know' and I can't even get in for an ultrasound for another two weeks at least! Guess I can take comfort in the fact that I don't have any cramping or bleeding either, right? I'm not giving up hope though. This baby is a miracle and was conceived though the conditions were less than ideal. I'm hoping it's tough enough to stick in there for another 8 months.

Hi!
Sometimes I think it SUCKS being able to find out you are pregnant so dang early. Its always a waiting game...Even if we coudl get an ultrasound right away, we would just stress that we didn't see a heartbeat....Stress and waiting. GRRRR.

I am trying to remind myself that plenty of women have no symptoms and healthy babies, and same as you- no cramps, no blood=awesome.

I hope this works out for all of us :-)
:dust:

Yeah. It's tough but, despite a back ache which I'm putting off as 'normal for pregnancy' since it's an ache not a cramp, I'm feeling pretty good. Just wish I'd get some pregnancy symptoms already to put my mind at ease...or if the dr would call and say my hCG is up to 200 or something insanely high and my progesterone is like 20...Either way, I'd rest easy. Well, at least easier I guess.

Welll,

My HCG levels are doing well, doubling time 36.86 hours, or 1.6 days. First was 101.9, second 1279.1.

These numbers are higher and doubling time faster than my last loss. HOWEVER, in all three losses, the numbers go up and up and up, until right before I lose the baby. I have never heard a heartbeat though. I have my ultrasound scheduled for next Friday which should be at 6+1, so I have a week of this left.

My fear (Right this second) is that they wont find a heartbeat, and tell me its probably too early, giving me continued hope, just to have it dashed the following week.

I have developed a symptom at least, I guess. Sore nipples. Not boobs, just nipples. Weird. It's just SO different than my last pregnancies. I'm not overly tired, no gagging on the prenatals, nada.

So, on that note, my prayer is that this IS my rainbow baby, and I am just getting EXTRA blessed with an easy pregnancy.

I'm just going to try to go with that for the week.

How is everyone else coming along?

:hugs:

My hCG levels were 30 on CD29 (Monday) so not too terribly bad. I repeat my labs on Monday so hopefully those numbers will be well into the hundreds. I'm not worried as I know my numbers always do tend to be on the lower end of the 'normal' range and rise slow. The one I don't like is my progesterone. It was only 9.7. According to the dr, anything above 9 is 'normal' for 4 weeks but he did say they *prefer* it to be closer to 15. What I've seen online backs that up so I'm glad I asked for the progesterone supplements. Got them yesterday so I'm feeling SO much better about that anyway. Symptom-wise, I'm pretty much the same as you. Not much. The past few days, I've had mild nausea most of the day, but not bad enough to even *think* about puking. Then this morning I woke up and spent 15 minutes dry heaving I felt so yucky. Up until now though, nothing else. Not even an stomach pang when I've been hungry. Blech...I wish I could get something that just stands up and screams out "I'm a pregnancy symptom and there's no denying it!" I know you probably have the same feeling right now too.

Dairymomma,

Nausea and dry heaving!!!! OMGoodness! Sounds to me like a little rainbow in there shouting at you!!! This makes me very excited for you! Did you have ms with the previous pregnancies?

Please keep me posted, I am looking forward to your second set of numbers! Which I suspect will be a little higher than you think :-)

Big hugs for you!
Amy

I've had 3 losses in a row and found out at 3 weeks 5 days this pregnancy. I had no symptoms to 5-6 weeks them bam hello pregnancy!! They came and went which made me think I had lost my baby. I'm now happily 19 weeks with a very precious baby girl. Good luck to you, just because you have had losses doesnt mean this one will be lost too. Fingers crossed for a sticky baby x

I know I'm extra emotional these days but your post just made me cry. Taking the time to post your experience for those of us who have little hope is a very sweet thing to do. So, thanks so much! I'm so happy to hear things worked out for you finally!!!

You've boosted my spirits and reminded me not to lose faith.

DrAmy-my symptoms come and go pretty much every three days or so. They've been staying fairly mild and I was really worried but I went in to see my chiropractor on Monday for really bad sciatic nerve pain. As he was doing my adjustments, I mentioned I didn't have hardly any pg symptoms. His response reassured me somewhat. He said if everything in the body is balanced and working like it should, you really SHOULDN'T have pg symptoms (or at least very mild ones). His explanation is that pg symptoms are brought on by a backup of hormones that your body isn't clearing very well and if you don't have symptoms, then your body is doing what it should. So I feel better (a little anyway) and hanging on to his optimism that I'll have an easy, complication-free pregnancy this time round. FX the same is true for you!

Wow, thats awesome. I've been wanting to go a more natural route, I started foot zoning before I got pregnant, and a chiropractor was on my to do list. As well as massage and acupunture...Unfortunately, those things aren't covered by my insurance and the out-of-pocket expense is just too much. ANYWAY, my point is I tend to put a lot of stock in to alternative therapies, and to hear that sort of statement from a chiropractor is very reassuring.

:hugs:

My chiro is also a naturopath and I absolutely LOVE him! DH and I weren't even ttc (were in fact using family planning to hold off on pregnancy) but I STILL got pg this month! Just another sign babies are miracles, right? Anyway, the chiro didn't once make me feel bad for getting pg only two months after my last m/c, unlike some of the medical doctors I've seen in the past...And he's totally supportive of my choice to use medical intervention (early ultrasounds, progesterone, and even supported my decision to have a D&C with my last m/c instead of doing it naturally). He's not against modern medicine and isn't afraid to admit when I've needed more treatment than he can provide. He's CONSTANTLY learning but isn't offended if his patients come in with info for him disproving one of his theories. Honestly, if he did prenatal care and delivery, I'd be seeing him for that too! :haha: Seriously, he's managed to calm me down almost as much as my regular doctor has when I've been bleeding and HE was the one to figure out the probable cause for my bleeding issues during pregnancy. Three medical doctors couldn't explain my problems but he was able to figure out what was going on.

Dairymomma-Thats awesome! Hey, how are things for you? My first ultrasound is tomorrow morning, not sure if I will be sleeping tonight...

Meh, can't complain really. Some nausea yesterday and today so I'm feeling better about this baby though I keep telling myself "I WILL meet this baby in May. I WILL make it to term this time." and that's helping too. My only issue is with the doubled dose of progesterone, the side effects (dizziness and fatigue) are doubled as well. I get so woozy for about an hour after I take it but DH has been great. He's been taking the kids when he can so I can rest and makes me go to bed before 10:30 most nights. Even does cooking about once a week right now and that's just totally unheard of for him! :haha:

Oooo, I am hoping your ultrasound shows good news! I probably wouldn't sleep either. Part of me just wants to see what happens this time without an ultrasound. I mean I want to know there's a baby in there with a strong hb but I get this feeling I'm going to jinx it if I get one...Anyway, how are you doing? Any symptoms yet? I've been hoping to see you post you're puking your breakfast/lunch/supper/and guts up or your bbs are so big they can be used for flotation devices or something equally outrageously pregnancy symptom related...haha :)

And I get to see my naturopath tomorrow. Going to ask him about the dosage of some supplements he has me on and have him test me for some food intolerances. I'm also wondering about taking baby aspirin. My reg dr put me on it but th naturopath's got me on some stuff for clotting problems already and I have a MONSTER bruise from my last blood draw on Monday that's not getting any smaller yet. I'm curious if I'm on too high a dose of something or if I shouldn't be taking the aspirin too or if I just had a bad lab tech who did a bad blood draw.
