I'm 35, type2 diabetic (diagnosed 3 years ago) and 6w3d pregnant. Although this will be my 4th pregnancy I have yet to go full term because the 1st and 3rd were ectopic and the 2nd was a mc. I am overly anxious and nervous everyday because I am high risk 10 times over because of my age, my condition, and my history.
My DH and I have been best friends since we were 3 and I wouldn't have wanted children with anyone else but this has been heartbreaking to us. We have had numerous conversations about having more than 1 child but after all I've been through I'm not sure. I'm just hoping and praying that this one will result in a healthy baby.
I had my first hcg blood test on Thursday and it came back at 5000 which was great because I never got over 100 with the previous ones. They did an ultrasound and also ruled out an ectopic. So even though things have been looking good despite the fact I've been experiencing terrible gas pains every evening and spotting here and there i'm more hopeful than I've ever been.
We really want this baby and hope and pray that things will finally turn out the way we want them to.
I have another ultrasound tomorrow along with another blood test so here's hoping to good news.
