.

the injection can cause weightgain! not a old wives tale im afraid. i gained alomost two stone in about 4 weeks when i went on it! also if you have a bad reaction to it jsut think youve got 3 months for it to work its way out of your system.
the implant is a good idea. this too has side effects tha can be a bit unbearable and sometimes people have an allergic reaction to it.
i know once baby is born im personally having the coil fitted. after a couple of days of period style cramps you never feel it and it is the best form of protection against pregnancy. and also it can stay in there for up to five years depending on which one you have.

and back to OP the twins were a result of NTNP and this one was NTNP but we were planning on officially trying once i had had a period as we fell on our first month off the pill. we both just said we wont use any protection and if it happens it happens and we will be ove rthe moon about it. wouldnt change a thing for the world now.

also i know someone who is pregnant with her 5th baby and shes only just 23!!!
shes had a baby every year for the past three years (soon to be four with this one on the way) and theres about a year and a half gap between the eldest and the next. shes used the children to trap her partner though which is a completely different story, thing is he still beleives her when she says she was on the pill every single time she fell pregnant even though she wasnt! poor lad i do feel sorry for him. xx

I was on the pill, took it religiously and have no idea how i got pregnant to be honest.

Not exactly sure how an accident can happen twice at a young age though..

Please correct me if im wrong (and i am wrong a lot :haha:) but I'm sure I've seen you say you had a loss before, therefore this is your second pregnancy? Thats happened twice then, not trying to attack you, just saying no contraception is 100% and even if you change the next one could fail also.Again, sorry if i got you confused with someone else. x

No, it hasn't happened twice as i foolishly planned my previous pregnancy. Anyway i'm not going into my previous loss as it isn't appropriate.

If we all thought 'no contraception is 100% and any could fail' then we would have a hell of a lot more unplanned pregnancies on our hands so i would prefer to use anything, as i don't want another child after this one.

ETA: Sorry for the blunt response i had to be quick as was in the middle of saving my pasta from dying!! xx

the issue for a lot of people with microgynon is the 21 days on and 7 days off doesnt always fit in with your cycle...
i will be going on cerazette! lol... fool proof I hope xx

Oh thanks for explaining, sorry didn't mean to nose into your private life!

I think IMO it is possible to have two unplanned pregnancies, but rather unlikely, because obviously if one contraception failed you would change to a better one which is more likely to protect you. But obviously theres a small chance that may fail also. The only 100% contraceptions are abstaining or hysterectomy - both a bit too harsh for most lol x

Unfortunately nothing is 100%. After learning about our suprise baby, i now think that maybe two methods of contraception are needed to prevent pregnancy, a pill/injection etc AND a condom  xx

I suppose to get through both of them you've gotta have super:spermy::spermy: lol x

I conceived whilst on microgynon, taking it at same time everyday (set an alarm) we also were using condoms.

Some people are very fertile:shrug:

Also some people dont take these pills properly, not intentionally though

we'll most likely be sticking to condoms, I had a horrible time on the implant what with with going up a clothes size in the space of a few weeks and my periods coming every other week I just don't like the idea of taking things that contain hormones and I like the idea that in the future when we decide for our second we will be able to straight away without worrying how whatever I was on has affected fertility iykwim?

I was on Cerazette when I concieved my first, it was pretty good but I was quite bad at remembering to take it!
The injection made my sister gain alot of weight & she also thinks it's the reason her BP has gone up (with the extra weight).
My mum was on the coil but was hospitalized for about two weeks when she had left it in too long!
I think I may go on the pill and use condoms, but I really don't know.
x

First baby was NTNP, now we are TTC and I had a very faint maybe :bfp: today so going to test in the morning with FMU xxxxx

my 1st was a BIG shock coz i didnt find out til i was 7 months gone, but even so i was over the moon. this time it was planned (didn't want a too big age gap)

I was on the jag and we were using condoms. I now have a 8 months old:haha:

My first wasn't an "oops" baby, he was planned - although we didn't think I'd have gotten pregnant so fast :happydance:

The baby I'm having right now is my first and she/he was stupidly planned :dohh:

But I was on Loestrin24Fe before I got pregnant and let me tell you it's a great pill! It's 25 days on and 3 days off and it regulates you to that cycle in 3 months. They gave me a deal so that I wouldn't have to pay more than $24 per month for it :happydance:

there are other choices too girls.

nuva ring is a good one, I used it for over a year and loved it. I went from it to the copper coil (caused me way too much bleeding and cramping so I had it removed)

I really would stay away from the shot, I had it and gained 30 pounds in a month and a half :( never again.
