Phoned the NCT centre (a NCT is a legally required vehicle test) today to get a date to have my Volvo tested.. next available date is in November! Kinda shows that Christmas is getting closer!

Hi ladies

Hope you don't mind but I thought I would properly introduce myself! I am a 28 year old lady from Essex, currently on maternity leave with my 8 month old daughter until November when I will return to my teaching job for adults with learning disabilities. I have always been Christmas obsessed and after my birthday in June I spend the rest of the year saying "Not long 'til Christmas!" - it annoys the heck out of most 'normals' I know I have been on BnB for some time now but never ventured here. So pleased I found it! Last year Christmas was such a blur as I'd just had DD. I did enjoy it and it was very special but I can't say I remember it at all! I remember that on Christmas Eve LO slept for 5 hours in a row and DH and I thought it was a Christmas Miracle lol! I can't wait for Christmas this year as I feel I will definitely be able to enjoy it more. I had such wonderful Christmases when I was a child and I'd love DD to have the same kind of memories I do

Anyhoo, sorry for the ramble! Lovely to meet you all fellow Christmas-Lovers! Looking forward to counting down with you all!

I want to get a move on with buying presents, but DH is making me wait til October because we are going on vacation next month, and he wants us to space out our money spending. I'm looking forward to the presents being bought and wrapped so I can relax a bit.

Same here. I'm eager to get shopping but 1. OH thinks it's too early. And 2. We're decorating our new house and OH wants to spread our spending.

Just found this forum. Christmas is my favorite holiday, this year is my first one with my baby!!! Two years ago I announced my engagement to DH, last year I announced my pregnancy, how am I going to top that this year?????
