4 losses, currently pregnant.Progesterone ?

Hi Ladies,
So I am currently 3 weeks 5 days pregnant right now. I am beyond overjoyed, but trying to remain cautiously happy. I have suffered 4 losses in the past 2 years and they were devastating to say the least. Most have been around 6 weeks along.
I did the mass amount of blood tests to rule out any abnormalities and everything came back fine--except low progesterone and a short luteal phase. So my doc said the second I get a positive test to begin Prometrium Progesterone. I have now had 6 positive tests! and did my beta yesterday..of course it being a weekend I won't know anything till at least monday. But I did talk to the on call doc and she said to go ahead and start the progesterone.

My question is to you ladies who have/or have known someone who has gone through some losses and then became pregnant again and started the progesterone. What was the outcome? How did you feel?

I am soooo scared of losing another lil babe and really really hope this is our rainbow baby that we have been wishing and praying for.

I have only had one lose, but it was due to very low progesterone. I was put on prometrium with my son and it worked wonders. He is now a happy and healthy 3 year old. I am now 10 weeks pregnant and have 2 more weeks of the prometrium and so far my levels are great and the baby is doing great!

Hey hun, I don't have a success story but wanted you to know about this thread. It is for women who are pregnant after recurrent loses. Not only are the women in there amazing and supportive but there are so many success stories that it is full of hope too. It really does help to have that and also to be surrounded by women who know exactly how you feel x

I had two losses in a row - the first was a missed miscarriage, and the second was an early MC at 5 weeks. I had a short luteal phase (9 days most months) and am also 38, so low progesterone was assumed (never checked). I got pregnant soon after my second loss and started progesterone cream as soon as I got my BFP and am now 15 weeks and counting. Everything looked absolutely perfect on my 12-week scan, and I'm sure the progesterone was the difference.

Were you checked for blood clotting issues as well?

With ivf they give everyone progesterone - since they do not know if you are at risk or not. I did use progesterone for 12 weeks.

I am currently taking progesterone after two back to back losses. So far so good although I am only 9 weeks and my first pregnancy went to 11 so still worried.

Hi honey, i have a progesterone success story!! i had 3 losses at around 5-6 weeks, had all tests done and everything came back normal so due to my short luteal phase and low progesterone with my 3rd early m/c (only time i got tested for low progesterone) my recurrent m/c specialist agreed too trial me on cyclogest progesterone pessaries twice a day until 12 weeks and i now have my beautiful little princess!! So i know for sure that the low progesterone was my problem. My pregnancy went smoothly, although i was extremely nervous throughout it, and i now have my rainbow baby!!

I am trying to remain positive and to honestly believe that this could really be it. I am sooo scared though!

I am picking up the Progesterone today and will be starting right away. I want this baby more then anything but I did learn a mantra today and I really need to say it to myself every day...maybe it will help others who are in this position.

I had two 5 week losses, no bloods done but this time my dr started me on progesterone and I'm almost 11 weeks- not sure if its meant to be or progesterone is helping- but I don't care lol as long as I keep these babies

Congrats want2bemommy!! That's wonderful that you are having twins!!

I am going to use NPC (natural progesterone cream) for the first time this cycle (been TTC for one year this month). I have long cycles and have had two chemical pregnancies so I am hoping the NPC helps.

My SIL has had 2 loses and this time around she was put on progesterone. As that is what they said was causing the miscarriages. Everything has gone GREAT, and she is 9 weeks! Good luck!
