Hey ladies,

Tonight, OH and I jumped on the TTC bandwagon! We're officially trying to have a baby! YAY!

Awwwwww Star she is beautiful and looks like daddy!!! I am soo happy for you. How is everything? Is being away from home easier with her now?

Thanks :cloud9: She does look like her daddy, same head shape and so much more!
Being away from my family still sucks. A lot. But my mom and one of my sisters came for two weeks when MollyBoo was born, and we're planning a trip there ASAP, so that helps. Christmas is going to be hard though, I think.

I passed my first one, fingers crossed that you will too! :hugs:

Gestational diabetes doesn't have anything to do with the momma being overweight, though, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong - I need to learn! :P

No, it doesn't. Gestational diabetes is due to a hormone imbalance and it can happen to anyone. For instance - I am overweight and did not have it (although I was tested for it twice because my doctor was a wee bit biased), and my husband's skinny, stick-thin cousin DID have it.

in a certain percentage of women the hormone that stimulates insulin production, because of all the hormone changes in pregnancy, doesn't end up doing it's job properly for the duration of pregnancy. That's gestational diabetes. It's gone as soon as you deliver the placenta, if you have it.

I don't know about elsewhere, but here in the uk if you have a high bmi they automatically test you for gd at around 28 weeks.

I'm very overweight and didn't have it - like Starlit says, anyone can develop it xx

I am getting the gd test at 28 weeks abd my results the day after there are going to call with a yes or no

...Hey guys just wondering when you guys starting showing? and starting feeling the baby move? I feel as tho being bigger, its not the same time span as a "skinny" girl....

I felt the first flutterings when I leaned forward at around 16wks and proper kicks at 21/22 weeks. And I didn't know until I read my notes after having her that I had an anterior placenta - which quite often means you can't feel movement as much. I had absolutely no problems feeling or seeing Fran kick - in fact her nickname was "Little Miss Wriggles" :haha:

Unfortunately I never developed a bump. I have so much flabby skin on my belly that I never "popped". I, and those closest to me, could tell but to anyone else I just looked fat like normal.

I felt this one around 14 weeks and started showing all of a sudden at 17 i just popped

Hey ladies! So like I told you this was our first cycle TTC after marriage, and only the 2nd cycle TTC seriously and what do you think ?!? :happydance:
