5dpo and my temp is below cover line

Hi everyone. Has anyone had any experience of this? It's my second cycle that I've charted an ovulation in ( though I've been charting for 8 months so had plenty of experience temping) and I'm 5dpo and my temp has dropped back down below coverline. It basically just went up then straight back down again. I've been told I have polycystic ovaries and I'm awaiting an appointment at the specialist, but I'm worried this might suggest a progesterone problem too? I'm using a natural progesterone cream for the first time this month but it doesn't seem to have done anything yet.

Any ideas? I just feel like I'm out already and I was so excited that I ovulated for the first time in 6 months

I am 5 dpo too and my temps have have only been 97.3 and this a.m. my temp was 97.1. I'm soo confused as to why my temps are not going up like they have in previous cycles! I too have PCOS and dont ovulate often. Sorry Im not much help, just wanted to wish you luck!

when googling, it looks like it could be a implantation dip for you both. Fingers crossed!!!

It sounds like a secondary estrogen surge. This happens after ovulation, although you may not always have it or see it on your chart. You have another surge of estrogen, perhaps some cm again, and a lower temp.

Did your temps go up enough on 1-4 dpo to show that ovulation did happen? I know that with PCOS sometimes women have a lh surge that suggests ovulation but it is delayed and happens later. Although, I'd say if you were able to confirm that ovulation did already happen with a sustained temp rise and ovulation signs, then it's probably just a secondary estrogen surge. This is normal and happens to lots of women.

Thanks for the reassurance ladies. My temps did confirm ovulation, and it matched in with cm and opk results so I'm pretty sure I did o. My temp this morning is back above my coverline, but only just, so I'll just have to wait and see if it rises higher again.

The only other thing I can think of is that I woke up feeling really hot yesterday and clammy. So possibly I got too hot and kicked off the covers in my sleep and cooled myself down? Clutching at straws I know.

This cycle has just been so weird I don't even know why I'm surprised my temps are dodgy. Initially ff said I ovulated on cd10, and I thought I missed it(hubby had sperm analysis on cd9, so couldn't start bd earlier, so we only started cd10), but then it changed to cd12 so I'm in with a chance. But back in the days I used to actually ovulate before pcos started playing up, it was always about cd16, so it was really early this month.

I'm 6dpo now and I've been known to only have a 10 day luteal phase so I may not have much longer to wait in the dreaded tww. I'm taking b6 though to try and lengthen it. Fingers crossed. Trying not to get my hopes up, since I did ovulate so that's still a great sign, but it's my hubby's birthday on Friday and I'd love to give him a really great present

Aah my temp has dropped again! I really don't think it can be an implantation dip now. I'm feeling symptoms, but I'm pretty sure they're all in my head. I'm losing hope now My last lp was only 10 days, and I'm 8dpo now so may not have much longer to wait.

On the plus side I finally got an appointment at the infertility clinic. There was a cancellation so I'm going on Thursday! I'm really nervous.

Mine dropped this morning too at 5dpo. Thinking im out now then my lp is normally 10-12days. This is our last month ttc till xmas now as i dont want a June/July/Aug baby with work etc.
