Hello all, not really sure what is going on. i am 8 weeks and 4 days pregnant, i have a scan and seen the baby’s heart beat.... but this morning i did a pregnancy test and it was negative, really scared as i have had spotting and cramping throughout this pregnancy also i have two previous miscarriages.
So you think I am having or have had another miscarriage?
Do you think i should get a different brand of test or call the hospital?

hi hun i cant offer much advise other than phone the hospital... do you feel pregnant still??? it could be just a dodgy test hun but just to put ur mind at ease call the hospital, im sure it will be fine though but no harm in checking xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Hun,
I would just phone the doctor to put your mind at rest. Could easily have been a dodgy test. Was there a reason for you doing one? x

1st off say for instance the worse has happened then your hcg levels wouldnt drop till 0 till you had passed the baby. Which you havnt done. I say that to reassure you. so try not to panic. Once your hcg levels get so high then they can be to high to register on a test. i have seen a few posts on here and my friends got a very faint test at 8 weeks and paniced (she is 22 weeks now) . give your dr a call if your worried or midwife. x

hi , hpts can go neg when the hormone gets so high its called the hook effect . i did one when i was 8 weeks and was so faint so i duilited the pee with water ans sure enought it was darker :flower:

Yeah, i was gonna say this n suggest diluting ur urine and retesting. Dont worry xx

I also heard that taking a test later in pregnancy will cause it to give a false negative. It can't interpret levels that high. Plus, even if you did have a MC, you would still have HCG in your system for a while. I wouldn't worry. It sounds like baby is just fine. Stop taking pregnancy tests! You already know you are pregnant. :-)

Hun put the pregnancy tests down, and away. There is no reason to test. All you do is send yourself into a panic. Baby is fine in there. Pregnancy tests are really not made to register high amounts of HCG. Stop testing :)

I agree with the ladies above. Those tests are made to detect early hcg levels. If I was you, I would quit testing unless you ask your doctor to test you. Otherwise you're going to be POAS and upsetting yourself often. It's just not worth the stress or money. It took me about 6 weeks to stop testing and if I started up with testing again, I'd send my self into a POAS rage. So call the doctor just to be sure but stop testing lol
