Hi ladies

After being diagnosed with endo when I was 19 I was told I probably wouldn't conceive. After years of not wanting children, all of a sudden things changed and this seemed like a huge blow to me and my whole family. I wondered what the point of living was after that and I realised how much I wanted children after all

12 years later after a strict diet I now have 2 wonderful children. Conceived naturally.

I am currently undergoing my first egg donation cycle and I just wanted to give you ladies some inspiration. Please don't give up hope. Stay positive and try and keep your mind occupied whilst ttc. Also be aware that there are plenty of ladies out there (like me) that will do anything to help.

Please don't give up. Eventually you will have your beautiful bundle in your arms and you will forget all of this.

Love to you all xx

Steph thanks for this story. How strict was your diet. I am trying to avoid all the bad foods but sometimes you cave especially when going it etc.

It seems like I have been ttc for years since 30 now 36. Had my daughter after 5 ivf but when we tried for number two no more eggs. My amh is only 4.2 so your stories gives me hope. I didn't know I had endometriosis until after 3 ivf had a lap done. Can't believe the endometriosis wipe out all my egg supplies at 36.

I basically followed the endo diet. No Wheat, dairy, red meat, eggs, caffeine, alcohol, soya or cocoa. It sounds a lot as I basically lived on chicken, fish, rice and veg. I felt healthier after a week though which made me more determined. More importantly it worked xx

Yesterday I caved and had a steak. Going to be good from now. I did feel bloated afterwards. Eggs is a new one though. All the weekends I love to have eggs for breakfast! I Googled it and found that it causes inflammation is that right according to you?
Avocado is my favourite food in the world atm. Thanks for sharing

I'm curious how long it took you on the diet once you were TTC? Or were you on it before that?

I just finished my first failed cycle. Neither of my tubes function so I'm pretty much out conceiving naturally. However during my IVF my doctor said I had signs of endo. Not surprising since something is blocking my tube. But we'd always assumed it was scar tissue from a previous ectopic which it could still be.

Anyway I want to set my self up better for my next IVF. I was on a pretty strict high protein low carb diet for about 5 months prior to IVF. Though I still had carbs and it wasn't an endo diet. Thinking of being even stricter but not sure how long to give it a try for. Age is not on my side to begin with but since this might be our last shot I want to make sure I give it a decent shot.

Hugs to you Bronte. What were your protocol? You got decent number of eggs and fertilisation. Have you considered doing a lap to clear endometriosis?

Anyway just want to wish you all the best! I know too well what fail IVF feels like. The first one is always a trial run. At your appointment with your RE ask what they can do for your quality.

Thanks unlucky. I've considered the lap and dye but I'm not sure I actually have endo. I know I have something in there but my RE didn't think removing it was necessary to begin with. I still think it's more likely scar tissue. We'll see what he says at the follow up.

I'm not sure of the protocol name but I was on Gonal-F, Menopur from CD3 and then Ganirelix from CD6.

I'm definetly going to ask about quality. I have a lot of questions now!!

Bronte were you on the long or short protocol? As long as you are having eggs and good fertilisation you have a good chance.

Hope you get a good protocol for ivf 2.
