Dunno how quite to explain it to make sense,

but will give it a go!

Moving to my new flat this weekend and will be claiming for housing benefit.
It's been a real stuggle to find anywhere that will accept me because i'll be on benefits, so eventually we had to agree to pay the first 6 months rent in advance (my dad is paying) and i'm going to have to pay my dad back every month instead of landlord for the first 6 months.

How will this effect me getting housing benefit? Will it effect me at all? I mean, i won't have to tell them that ive paid 6 months in advance, do i? Do i have to tell them that im paying the rent to my dad as he's already paid in for me? Does that even make sense?

Just need to know if i will still be entitled to the housing benefit even if the rent has already technically been paid, even if they dont need to know that?

Im i made sense and someone can advise me x

I'm not sure if you will be entitled but if they don't ask (which they won't) and you don't tell them about your dad helping you out, there shouldn't be any problems

I dont think you will, its not written in the tenancy agreement? if they dont ask, dont tell them
