I have an appointment on Monday for my first acupuncture session. I have heard of women using it during IVF, but Im worning if anyone has used it and how the outcome was?

Im willing to try anything!!:wacko::flower:

Did acupuncture for about two years. It did help me ovulate sooner and my periods got better, but never lengthened my too-short luteal phase. Crinone is the only thing that ever helped that. I stopped acupuncture about 6 months before we started IUI so although I don't know if it helped get my bfp, my theory is it probably didn't hurt. GL to you!

hey thanks!!! congrats!!! Im going to start IUI next friday, my acupuncture appointment is Monday and Im going to try and go thursday!

did acupuncture after 14 months TTC. was pregnant the next month! good luck!

whoa!!!!!!^^^^ could you tell me a little more?? how many times did you go? why did you go?

Stress is the main reason im going!

I went for 3 sessions. She started right after my period & went 3 times up to about day 17 ( just pass ovulation). The doctors had no reason for me not getting pregnant so I thought I'd try this. She said acupuncture can "strengthen" eggs. Totally worked, was pregnant that cycle! It's also super relaxing! Oh and if your OH is the reason (low sperm count) they can do acupuncture for that too!

I believe it 100%, going through IVF and I had it leading up to it and before and directly after transfer. There is alot of supporting studies for it. Good luck!

hi, i tried it along with chinese herbal medicine this yr as i have tried everything else over the years, it didnt work for me tho, but then again nothing ever does :(

Thanks ladies! I'm going to update when I get done :)

Rose-bud so sorry to hear you are having a hell of a time. I will pray for you!
When in Ireland are you located? My husband has family there I just love it there !!

I also did it during my frozen transfer for IVF (was successful!) however I do believe it could help if not doing IVF. my lady says it warms and brings blood flow to the uterus which helps implantation. it also really made me feel much more calmer and balanced, which can only help. I went 2x a week a month before my transfer and continued till the end of my first trimester. good luck!

this is my 5th month of herbs and accupunture and my af just started on day 16!!! so im officially back where i started having af every 2 weeks or so, im going to quit it now its just draining precious ivf money away for nothing, damn pcos i hate you!

ladies can you please recommend a good clinic or a doctor in London? I tried acupuncture a couple of times but was a bit disappointed with it, the first clinic did not specialise in fertility and the second was a proper Chinese doctor and the whole experience was kind of scary, unbelievably painful (it was not just acupuncture) and SO expensive (paid £400 for acupuncture, scrubbing, cupping, herbs, tea and moxa box with sticks). to be honest I did not understand half of what was going on and in the end felt like I was robbed :(

im sorry I cannot help with finding a spot, I am in the US

rosebud_01_99 sorry to hear.

I currently treat 1x a week but since I am becoming more agressive I have upped it to
2x a week. I have other issues I need to work out but stress is one of the big ones so I can totally relate!

I hope to get my BFP soon, I will update as this progresses!

Hi Moorebetter, how did it go today? Any tips or advice? Hope it went well for you x

My first acupuncture treatment details!!!:thumbup::happydance:

First we went over all of my history and how I currently felt. Then I went and laid on the bed, she took my vitals from both wrists and looked at my tongue.
She wrote some stuff down and said she really wanted to do “back treatment” on me. I rolled over and she wrote on my back where my vertebras were (I think that’s what they are called) and then she started. The feeling of the needles wasn’t what I expected at all. I didn’t hardly feel a thing, she put the first one in and said “there’s your first needle” I didn’t feel a thing :happydance: After that I was super relaxed knowing it wasn’t going to hurt! Hehehe

She put 18 needles in and made sure that I was doing okay, said that she was going to let me relax for 30 mins and she would then take them out. I asked about a few tingles I was getting on my right side. She said that was energy at work, and that most people feel it on one side or the other but really never both, I thought that was cool, she said know one really had a explanation on it but that was very common .

I fell asleep hahaha, 30 mins later, she came back in and removed the needles and check my vitals again. She said we would do one more treatment, and I rolled over she put two needles in the top of my head, two in the spot between my pointer and thumb on each hand, and 8 in each ear. When she was doing my left side she put on in and I felt a pinch. I told her that, the last one pinched a little, it didn’t hurt, but different feel like the others. She said that in the ear there are like 50 different points, and the point that pinched was the lungs, and that the Chinese believe the lungs hold our grief. WOW!!!!!!!!

She left those in for 15 mins and then took them out,
I loved my session and im going back Thursday, my insurance called yesterday and they are covering the IUI procedure, so I will have it done on Friday! Im hoping this will help with my stress. Last night I slept really really good . I have only had on session so I cant say if it has worked or not but I did sleep well, better then I have in a while and hopefully this will lead to my BFP, if not, at least im relaxed :cloud9::flower:

I go Friday 3pm gmt. I'll be interested to compare to your experiences yesterday. My appointment is £58, so about $70, so I hope it works :-) I think appointments after the initial consultation are not so expensive though. Fingers crossed for you iui xxx

Yes mine was 90.00 the first visit then 70.00 from then on out!
