Hi Girls!
I have unexplained infertility and have been TTC for over 2 years. I just started Acupuncture following a failed IVF cycle in preparation for my next IVF attempt in August. My acupuncturist said that her success rates for natural and IVF cycles are the same.... although we are still going to proceed with IVF in August.
I've had one session a week. I don't mind the needles too much - there is the occasional one that hurts a bit, but once they are all in, its really relaxing. She has only been putting about 6 needles in for 30 minutes (on my wrists, stomach, and feet) followed by extra needles for 5 seconds on my wrists and knees at the end. This seems far fewer needles than some of you are experiencing?
I haven't really noticed any difference, but then I don't know what I'm supposed to be noticing as not sure what, if anything, is wrong!
Briss: you asked about an acupuncturist in London. If I lived there, I would definitely go to Emma Cannon - she specialises in fertility. She has also written a book too (Baby Making Bible or something) and this cycle I've been following her diet, affirmations, acupressure, yoga advice. I really recommend it - easy to follow and written in a really sensitive way. (I find other fertility books tell me everything I already know - when to try, fertile CM, OPK pros and cons etc)
I'd be interested to hear other peoples experiences of acupuncture.
