Why is the BBC announcing the areas which are sending police officers to London? Just heard that officers from Notts are going to London. Am I alone in thinking this is a fucking stupid idea to make it public knowledge which areas are without a full police force? Particularly as these are areas in which riots have been attempted...
 
Apparently more of the same tonight. Get those water cannon's out!

On nearly every street there is boxes, paper, glass everywhere!

Yeah it is. Like Sky News reported yesterday the Met had sent out Riot officers who havent been fully trained.. Why dont you give them more ammo! Idiots! :dohh:
 
Agree with Emma and IndyandLara. Whereas I am sure poor parenting plays a part in some of these cases, what I really think this reflects is a generation with no respect, no concern for consequences, no interest in society and their place in it. I also think it reflects a society believing they are 'owed' something...materialism has never been more alive than in today's society. Some have learned nothing from an economic breakdown.

I am fed up with trying to make excuses for these people...although I do, partly, believe that there is a chronic lack of youth services. Particularly in cities.

Anyway, harsh punishments-be it hard labour, bit of public humiliation...something needs to be done to stop apologising for the situation and to start bringing in feared consequences.
 
They need to bring back national service. Works in Italy!! Should be here too! Show these little scummy teenagers what real respect is!
 
My OH seems to think it won't be long until they call the army in :nope:

I'm in absolute shock over it all. I can't believe it..And all for one gang member?

I don't know how true it is but a few people have said their preparing to close roads where I am (Northampton) in preparation for the rights :nope: I can't see it myself but you never know.. I think it's extremely sad.
 
I doubt they will call in the army. The army dont have the power against criminals like police do. Its treading on eggshells these days!

I've only had it two months and still have to pay it off :(

The people doing this can't possibily own a car / house, have jobs etc ... or they would understand the costs involved and the problems it could cause them!!

Theses are just faceless coppers/feds. They are borthers/mothers/daughters/sisters/fathers! FFS Doing thier bloody JOB! :cry:

Its bloody disgusting. People are moaning about the police not doing aything but they are the ones on the street getting bricks thrown at them and risking their lives to try and do what they can to control the situation.

People are also questioning why the fire brigade are letting the fires burn but if they went in they would be attacked.
 
They can't send in the army, there would start to be deaths. Best left to the police who know how to handle rioters
