I believe this would have happened at some point regardless of the shooting; they were even talking of the possibility of such a thing a few weeks back on LBC since the police are left like headless chickens and all the head people in the government and London mayor are on holiday and I did read that this was pre-planned long before Saturday. I've seen people with 'anarchist' blogs praising this and saying its just the beginning of destroying the capitalist system, which presumably H&M, JD Sports and Currys are the evil shadowy figures in charge of....

LBC had much more info than BBC, Sky etc. BBC and Sky didn't even mention most of the areas affected last night even though police confirmed damage, riot squads despatched etc. They have put barriers around westfield as well. They were saying something like this would happen on the nightly news and when Declan (Harvey?) was speaking with Iain Dale afterwards, when all the head honchos of the police resigned a few weeks ago, seems LBC are always one step ahead of the idiotic met police! xx

started on Hackney now, shops in most areas closed at 3-4pm , was going shopping in W'stow on Saturday and didn't go in the end now I daren't risk it (was attacked yesterday probably will be again at some point) and no idea how long this is going to carry on.

Just watching sky news..it's starting up all over London by the sounds of it.. those poor poor innocent families / shopkeepers etc.. that have nothing to do with any of this but have to sit back and watch these thugs ruin their lives.. tougher policing needed...

Just saw this thread. I'm not shocked this has happened if I'm honest but I'm ashamed to be a Londoner, especially a SE Londoner. I'm just hoping it doesn't get to Bromley (it's not far from Lewisham) as I live above an off licence so it wouldn't be good news. It's disgusting.
