They're considering rubber bullets but they think water cannons are unnecessary?

I don't think rubber bullets are going to help its just going to make people more angry and chances are someone who gets hit with one will end up trying to sue the police force or something.

this country has gone mad!!!! these little scumbags on the news really make me ashamed to be british!!!!

some daft women on the news saying shes doing it to get her taxes back!!!
we all pay taxes love!!!! obviously this uneducated idiot hasn't thought that is now "her" taxes that are going to be used to pay for and rebuild her town.......oh and aswell pay for her stay in prison!!!! well done stupid im sure you got them back.

I highly doubt she's ever even paid "her taxes"!! I wouldn't call these people hardworking people. And if they are well they will soon be out of a job when their face is all over the news!

there was a looter on the news.....he had gone into curries stolen a laptop just walked out casually with it.....even had the bloody cheek to press the traffic lights wait for the green man then cross .

another fool.....who actually worked at the curries.....went into her own shop and stole a blooming microwave .

the saddest stories for me are the shop thats been in the family for 5 generations.....survived 2 world wars but reduced to ash in one night.... the poor 80 year old owner was nearly in tears talking about it so sad .
an elderly women in her 90's woke to find a thug in her room.....he warned her and helped her out of the house before robbing it .
and then that man who was laying on the floor bleeding they help him up and then mug him.....the videos been shown on the news all day makes me sick watching it!!!

all these innocent people now without jobs and some without homes.
i hope these thugs get what they deserve!!!!!!

I doubt they will close down BBM, they would need to close down the whole internet to have any real effect

I sort of agree, there are similar apps for iPhones and things and plain old SMS is still a viable option for them, sadly

why aren't the phone comapnies stopping mobile internet & BBM????

The phone shops are being looted the most, it'll hinder them a little bit if they aint got a phone!!

there is a rumor floating about from quite a few people on my facebook that they are disabling BBM...not sure how true it is though xx

it came up on sky news in the little strip accross the bottom that they are disabeling (sp) it . x

The pres arn't getting the full picture I think, they have been told to take rubber bullets. What the polic decide to do before then is up to them. But I think it was all discussed in the cobra meeting. Who knows what was send in that room x

Water cannons are only useful against a static crowd, whereas this crowd is constantly on the move and disbanding and reforming.

I just really don't think that guns are going to help anything and I worry for the safety of the police. These people have no morals or any kind of empathy and if a policeman shot one of their own they would turn on the force. I think its putting the police in an incredibly more dangerous position

Just spoke to my husband, he works in the centre of Leeds. He is driving home & there is loads of police and gangs of kids hanging around the city centre.

Want to go and get my boy from nursery now he goes to nursery in a really nasty area
