I got a surprise scan today which was excellent, but the consultant didn't really explain anything to me.
Looking at my notes I can see baby is measuring perfect, but my fundal height is 1 week ahead.
In the scan notes he has the AFI of 18, which I have looked up and anything from 8-18 is 'normal', but 18 is definitely on the high side.
I had a huge amount of excess fluid with my dd too, but never was told my AFI number, so just wondered if anyone knew theirs?
The only thing he said was 'there is a good amount of fluid around your baby'.

mine was 17.4 at my 26 week u/s...the specialist said it was great

I've never been measured for this but I'm sure I remember hearing someone (maybe on here...?) said even up to 20 was totally fine...
