Hi everyone,

After 5 M/Cs in 1.5 years (the most recent a chemical last week) I finally have some answers. My fertility specialist emailed me yesterday to say that my most recent test results show I have reduced antithrombin activity (antithrombin deficiency). I have an appointment with him this week, and then he wants me to meet with the hematologist.

I've been doing some reading online and it seems that there is little certainty in the way of treating antithrombin deficiency (aka antithrombin III). Some say heparin/lovenox works, others say it's unclear whether there's any benefit. I have already been on baby aspirin for my last 3 pregnancies and they still ended in m/c, so obviously that's not enough for me. I have also read that antithrombin deficiency puts a woman at extremely high risk for blot clots and therefore, increased risk of maternal death  So I am a little freaked out right now.

Is anyone else out there dealing with this? What was your treatment? Just curious.

I will update the thread when I find out more information in my case.
