Any other babies born on LO's birthday?
Is anyone starting to think about first birthday parties?

Hi
My Lo was born 27 th September. Not sure what to do about his first birthday party. I'm thinking just me ( hubby will be away) my two other children my bf and her 3 children. I don't know if to have it at home or go to a play centre, I've not got that far in the thinking process lol.
What are you thinking of doing.

I was thinking of a small-ish family thing too, but then was reminded by MIL that our family is HUGE, and everyone needs to be there lol so I don't know what to do, I was thinking maybe at a park, where everyone can bring some food and just have outdoor fun so I don't have to go overboard because I need to worry about Christmas too! I've just seen a first birthday party on facebook that completely blew my mind.. And have been getting junk emails stating ïts getting late, start planning Ryan-Ray's party soon!" How long does it take to plan a 1 year olds birthday?

Born on the 18th also early by four weeks. Don't celebrate birthdays but every time somebody says Ohhhh almost 1!!! It stabs my heart lol. I miss my little baby!! He's so active and non cuddly right now. :( trying to walk already.

26th of September here. I thought we'd have a house with a garden by her birthday, but that fell through, so now I'm not sure what we're doing. We had wanted to have a BBQ with family and maybe a few friends. We are thinking about still doig that, but at OHs parents' house.

I've picked a lovely baby doll as her present from us (would have been the same if she was a boy I think. Baby dolls are a must have toy IMO ;) ) we're going away for a month soon, so I want to get everything organised before then, as much as possible anyway.

I'm making the cake myself and if we don't have a BBQ I'll just get some party nibbles from asda and make a nice salad or something.

My little boy has never been cuddly! He had reflux so constantly did a back arching motion when newborn, then when he grew out of it, it was too late he was not a cuddler! LO has become super active recently as well and I think ive lost a few pounds from chasing him around all day :)

You don't celebrate birthdays? At all? What about when they're old enough to actually know it's their birthday?

I was thinking about making the cake myself as well, that way I know what goes into it since he will be devouring it! I still don't know what to get him, may make a thread about ideas next! Since we live in a upper apartment in the city, was thinking of an indoor ball pit or something big like that, but not too expensive

Yup. Don't celebrate them. I grew up not celebrating my own as well. But I got gifts at other times. Sometimes just because and when I started dancing then my parents would do a little something after my recital every year. :)
Ill be doing the same with Thorrin. (Not necessarily the dance recitals haha only if he wants).

Do you just not celebrate as in having a party with friends and gifts? Do you still acknowledge the birthday with just the family? I would have been so upset as a child if I didn't get my birthdays, that's the only fun thing I got to have all to myself!

Elijah is the 30th - we are going to have a family party and I'm going to invite a few of his friends from baby club! Prob a bit Ott but I think birthdays are a special celebration - for the mums too! X

I agree with you about birthdays being a special celebration for both! maybe more for the moms, but I know the LO's have fun with all the toys and cake and excitement!

I know I can't wait!!! I just think its such a nice celebration and i know it's going to bring out so many emotions remembering the day he was born!

Mac was also born on the 28th!!! yey

We will prob have a small celebration at home, with close friends and family xxx

Micah was born on the 6th October but he was due on the 26th September lol! I've not thought about it yet but maybe I should!!

No celebration. I mean we all know when our birthdays are (I got asked that as a child-"do you know when you were born and how old you are?"). If you want me to explain more feel free to pm. I don't wanna hijack your thread lol. But cool our Los were both early and about same age.

My boy is Sep 18th but already party planning also planning my daughters and her Birthday is October never too early lol

Keelan was born 29th! Won't be having a party as oh's family are a total pain in the ass, his mum and dad refuse to be around each other and recently his mum made some vile comments about my family so I think I'd be poking her eyes out if I had to spend time with her!

Don't know what we plan on doing yet. Need to start present shopping soon though so I can get stuff cheaply. Which means I can get more :haha:
