Any ladies with Pcos want to chat?

The Ttc journey can be a bit more difficult with irregular cycles etc so thought it would be nice to share the journey. Xx

Good luck!
I have PCOS, and am also TTC#2, my son is 9 months old and I just got AF today (at least I think so, I have some very light spotting), so this will be my first month TTC. I went to a fertility clinic for my first I'm hoping I don't have to for this one. I would like them close together.

Hi, I have Pcos also. We've been ttc #1 for 9yrs. Currently in the tww of my cycle after starting Femara for the first time. Good luck to you ladies.

I got pregnant on my first cycle of Femera, but miscarried. While I was waiting to get a natural period to start my next round I got pregnant on my own!
Good luck to you!
I'm debating how many cycles I should try before going back to the clinic???

I also have pcos, we were ttc #2 for 8.5 yrs before we got a bfp but sadly mc now I am in my tww

Hi ladies

Tonya - I read it's not a period til you get proper bleeding, spotting doesn't count. Has it started properly?

Swtpinkbabi - trying for so many years must be so very hard, I hope the femara works for you.

Akjsand - so sorry for your loss, to try for so long to have it end like that must have been heartbreaking xxx

I'm ttc number 2, my son is 3 and I conceived him after losing 56 lbs, I had an early mc about 6 months before I fell pregnant with my son. I do find weightloss is the key for me, I was trying for 6 months last year but had put weight on which made my cycles very irregular. So took a break and have so far lost 25 lbs, my last cycle was 34 days long which is pretty much as good as it gets for me. It was 14 days shorter than the cycle before and 20 days shorter than the one before that.

I'm supposed to be taking inositol as its supposed to be good for pcos but I keep forgetting to take them, going to make a real effort to remember from today. Maybe set myself a reminder. X

It's getting a little bit more....still waiting :)

I used to forget to take my metformin. Had to take it 3 times a day, finally I carried it everywhere with me so I could remember.

Hi, Cookie, we chatted a bit in another thread but I'd love to chat here as well!

Tonya, I had to have fertility treatments for my first as well and am hoping for a more natural BFP this time around. I'm currently on my first cycle TTC (first PP cycle) and took soy isoflavones- and I got positive OPKs on CD 13 and 14, so I'm hopeful it's helped!! AF this time was very light and started out as spotting for me. At first I wasn't sure it was AF, but it progressed from spotting to a light flow and lasted 4 days, so I counted it.

Mine is definitely getting a bit heavier now too, I have never used opk's I think I should.

I have PCOS I conceived my 4 yr old daughter with provera/ clomid combo. Not regular with cycles and rarely ovulate. I tried for 3 yrs without meds. But just started first round of meds. I would love to have others to talk to about things that others might not understand.

Hey ladies, how are you all doing? I've had a few days off my diet because of my bday and feel horrible for it. Back on track today so hoping to feel better. Need to stick with the diet as its going to give me my best shot at falling pregnant.

Has anyone tried progesterone cream? I used progesterone with added estrogen, really helped me, cycles regular, ovulating every month...It's good stuff. Now I've lost weight I don't need it but definitely would recommend it if you have very long/irregular cycles. Xxxx

I'll chat! I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was really young. Around 13-14. My periods started when I was 11...lucky me. I conceived my first round with femara, but sadly miscarried. I just started provera yesterday so my next cycle should start around May 10 and then I'll be doing femara again.

I find it so hard to stay on track, I lost 35 pounds before I got pregnant the first time. I was so luck to only gain 24 during my pregnancy and have been able to take that off, but now I'm at a stand still. I think part of my problem is being home all day and having access to snacks all day long!

Sorry for your loss kylasbaby, fingers crossed for this cycle.

Tonya - definitely harder when you are at home, I work from home alot and always eat more as the kitchen is right there so too easy to snack. I lost 4 stone (56 lbs) and put it all back on when I was pregnant, I lost it all again, put some back on, lost it again, put some back on...any way you see the pattern. So now losing again, I have 17 lbs to lose to get back to my pre pregnancy weight. I hate being a yo yo dieter and struggling so much but I think I'll always live like this. Least I never give up. I'm in the UK and follow a diet plan called Slimming World which can be followed through pregnancy so if I do fall pregnant I will definitely continue to do slimming world. Xx

Hi there :hi:

I also have PCOS and me and OH are currently ttc our first. Its hard because I dont have af on my own and im currently on cycle day 46 after coming off this contraceptive pill in Febuary.

I know I dont have af naturally and have tried with my perious OH to get pregnant for nearly two years with next to no af!! And the doctors wont help me yet this time with me and my current OH. Its frustrating, horrible and it depresses me, I think its evil

Feeling an odd one out right now.... *rants*:cry:

Hello I am new to this forum but like you I have PCOS and ttc. I just did a round of Femara with Bravelle injections this cycle. I am currently in the long tww. I had an IUI using clomid prior to this. I did not respond well to the clomid we tried 50, 100, & 150. On 150 I did produce 1 mature follicle but got bfn. This cycle with injections I only produced 1 mature follicle (I was hoping for 2 or 3 for a better chance) but she started me off on a low dose of 75 units of bravelle injections because we didn't know how I would respond. I have nearly 25 follicles on each ovary. They don't want to overstimulate. I hear that is very painful. I look forward to hearing other stories about you ttc journey. Mine has officially lasted 1 year. We only tried 2 times with IUI because only 2 times we produced mature follicle. I feel like I'm always waiting...I do not have periods unless they are induced each month. Prior to ttc, I was on the pill for 15+ years to regulate periods. Without the pill I would not have periods because of the PCOS and I would be in a lot of pain :(

Well I was on the pill for 15+ years and I got af each month. After sharing my desire for children, my doctor took me off the pill and referred me to a fertility specialist. She is great and it took a month just to see her for a consultation because insurance requires referrals etc. and u pretty much have to wait. After that I had many tests to take... A procedure where they inject due in the uterus to look for tube blockages etc. then, they induce periods with a drug called provera each month to get af to come. Then the fertility drugs are experimented with (dosage wise) of course everyone's body responds differently. The hardest part is doing everything the doc says... Taking the meds, monitoring your follicles to check for growth, and waiting and waiting for things to work for your body. I felt like clomid was a COMPLETE waste of time for me. It would not stimulate the follicles to grow. In hindsight I wish I could have started injections and not have wasted all of the time and money... But the doctor just never knows how you will do. I hope they can get u off the pill and starting the provera to induce af and start fertility meds to help u along. If I've learned anything this past year. TIME IS PRECIOUS. You can never get it back.

Hi there thanks for the reply :hi:

I went to see my gynaecology department at the hospital well he specialised in infertility/reproductive and he took all my details at the first appointment and requested that I get a blood test on days 2-4 of my cycle and to have a scan done (which the appointment came a week later and I had the scans last week) And for my OH to do a sperm analysis/count test. Then he said I will book you back in to see me in 6 months time!! So they won't start any fertility drugs/steps until then!!

They said if af don't arrive by June/July (which I know it won't) then I got to go back to see my doctor. And I can tell you I been off the pill since February and they leaving me on absolutely nothing until October!

When I tried naturally before in the past (with my pervious partner a few years ago) and I tried for not far off 2years and didn't get pregnant. I'm now with my current partner and very happy and just want my chance to have a bundle of joy :cry:

Good luck! I hope you see fast results with the meds. How many rounds of Clomid did it take for your daughter?

I've been off track for the last week now! It's so hard to keep it up sometimes. I could just kick myself for it.

I do so much worse when I'm home! I just want to snack all day. :dohh: I work 3 days a week so home a majority of the time.

I'm so sorry your doctor won't help you out yet! Where are you from? Have you considered looking for another doctor to try and get the ball rolling?

I'm sorry your journey has extended this long! I tried for nearly 2 years with my first, so I know how difficult it is. I did 5 rounds of Clomid, 2 rounds of Femara, and 4 rounds of injectables before I got my sticky BFP. Hang in there!!!

Hi there wanting2010

Im from the UK in the north west. I cant get to see another gyneacologist but i have booked an appppoint for 23rd May to ee another doctor at my surgey and she also happens to be my GP. Im hoing she will understand a bit more as is is a lady to and im sure someone tld me a while ago that she had qualifed in gyneacology herself. Not 100% sure about that yet until I see her... :flower:

Im hpoing she will consider giving me metfomin at least, becasue it worked wonder for me in the past, as it helped me lose my weight and stopped me feeling hungry all the time, it aslo brought my af back more regular!! (my cycles were anything from 28-35 or so,alot better than none at all considering im currently on day 66!!) I dont know if it makes me ovulate or not but its a step forward, beacaue at the monent im gaining wieght and contantly eating, plus I have no af, I dont want to go back to the specialist in October for them to turn me away again becaue my BMI is over!! I will be thinking well you left me serval months with nothing..... :growlmad:
