So tell me about this bromocriptine. Would I have to go back to my RE or could my regular gyno give it to me?

hi there I would love to chat :hi:
I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was very young too - about 15. So I've always had it in the back of my mind it might be a little harder for me. I am blessed and very fortunate to have my daughter who is 2. I was referred to fertility specialist after coming of BCP and having no periods whatsoever for 10 months. 50mg clomid didn't work but 100mg did the trick. I had 3 rounds which I ovulated in but didn't fall pregnant. then I had a "break" for a month while I moved house and got a new job. I was waiting to get some more clomid and got my bfp :) x
Since having DD my cycles have been much better, I am having a cycle roughly every 40 days, I don't really know what to do now as don't know what else I can do besides asking to be referred to FS again (to try for #2) I was sort of hoping not to have to be referred again and try and do it on my own but I don't think it's going to be possible with such long cycles. (Although obviously I am very thankful tio be having cycles at all :dohh:)
I actually have 4 clomid pills left over from ttc my daughter... what's everyone's honest opinions - do I take them??? is it risky?? xxx

I'm on it because of high prolactin levels which apparently can affect fertillity it's also known as parlodel if it didn't work it was clomid for me

Hi ladies, how's everyone? I'm currently on 9dpo/iui and so far has been uneventful. After trying for 9yrs, I'm not getting my hopes up with this first round of Femara.

Lace&pearls - I dont think long cycles will necessarily cause you problems trying to conceive, mine dont get shorter than 34 days but I still conceived naturally with no help at all. The first thing you will probably want to try and find out is if you are ovulating, and charting your temperature would be the best way to find out. xx

Swtpinkbabi - Fingers crossed that iui works for you, hoping you get your bfp this cycle. xx

Missyx90 - congrats!! Fab news xx

Wanting2010 - we keep bumping into eachother of different threads :) hope you are doing well.

AFM - I'm waiting to ovulate, got a while to go yet as I'm on cd 11 and I dont ovulate til CD 20/21. Starting charting my temp this morning, so will see how that goes.

xx

hi,

i have pcos too... i'm quite new to it, will it be hard to conceive for me?

my only symptoms for pcos are the polycystic ovaries, i do not have any excess facial hair or acne. my period also gets delayed at the latest 1 month. usually it is delayed one week or two..

please help :|

stbmommy - the thing with pcos is that it varies so much from person to person, some women conceive without any problems at all, some need abit of help and others have real problems. I was one of the ones who conceived without a problem, twice infact (lost first very early on), I wasn't trying when I fell pregnant either times. I thought I'd have real problems, as have always had irregular cycles, excess hair, acne...so it just goes to show, doesn't matter how bad your symptoms are it doesn't mean you'll have problems getting pregnant.

The one thing I will say to anyone with PCOS is, if you need to lose weight then do it, I know its hard and can be very slow but it is the one thing that will give you the best possible chance of conceiving. I lost 4 stone (56 lbs) and I 100% believe that is why I had no problems getting pregnant. I'm currently losing weight again in hope that I will conceive baby number 2. xxx

Hello everyone..... I have PCOS and am just starting TTC baby number 2. Was diagnosed with PCOS in 2010 after 18months of nothing when I came off my pill. I had ovarian drilling and was very lucky to fall pregnant straight away with my beautiful daughter. I went back on the pill after having my daughter and stopped mid packet last week. I had a withdrawal bleed at the end of last week, and today I'm having some spotting when I wipe...not sure why? No idea how easy/difficult things will be this time round....just hoping it's easier, as last time was tough!

Hope you all get the answers / babies you want xx

The only thing I changed after two years ttc was I was taking agnus castus primrose oil and starflower oil and pregnacare conception his and hers .. I stopped these on the 22nd of April because I went on met and bromo

cookie1979 - I could give temp charting a go, but if I'm honest I think I might be rubbish at it! lol :-S I used to do it, do you have to take it at the exact same time everday?? x

Would love to chat!
TTC 2 years 10 months
Cycles range from 3 to 4 months
1st cycle 50mg clomid bfp, ended in mc
Waiting for june to start on clomid again. Cant wait.

lace&pearls- It's risk I would be willing to make.

on losing weight- It's a must for us pcos'ers! It's a hard thing to accomplish, not impossible (although sometimes it feels that way)
I started eating Paleo (not 100%) just working my way up, reached 2 meals an all snacks paleo, lost ten pounds in less then 2 weeks, and recieved my first NORMAL (month) period. Would like to add I had lost 25 pounds from metformin and welbutrin a couple months ago. Once I got pregnant I gained 5 pounds, miscarried and then started paleo and lost ten! I just recently quit smoking and my eating habits are no longer healthy, gained 7 pounds back...Plan on heading back to paleo (with exceptions) and hoping for my cycles to STAY normal!!!

lace&pearls - yes needs to be around the same time, I think you have around a 30 minute leeway, as yesterday I took my temp at 6am and today at 5.30am and I still have the filled in circles on fertility friend, and I know if the temp isn't accurate you get a empty circle. Its not easy, I'll probably only do it this cycle just to check I'm ovulating, my wake up times do vary, this morning it was the damn cat scratching at the bedroom door, other mornings its my son waking early, or the fact that I have to get up at different times depending on whether I'm working from home or not. xx

kiwilove - sorry about your mc and good luck for your next cycle on Clomid, hope it works and sticks xx

lace&pearls- I have considered taking Clomid unmonitored before, especially if you know how you respond to it. This cycle I took soy isoflavones, so maybe that's an option for you if you don't want to do the Clomid, since it works in the same way as Clomid.

Missyx90, congrats on the BFP!

Swtpinkbabi, fingers crossed you get your BFP this cycle!

Cookie- Hoping the wait for ovulation passes quickly!

stbmommy- As others have said, PCOS can definitely make it harder for you to conceive but doesn't mean with 100% certainty that it will. Some women have no problems and others have a very difficult journey. It took me almost 2 years to conceive my son. I'm hopeful that TTC #2 will be an easier journey for me since I've lost weight and seem to have actually ovulated on CD 14 or 15 after taking soy isoflavones this cycle, which is amazing considering all the meds I had to take the first time around! Good luck!

nic_B- Good luck, and hopefully it will be a speedy BFP for you!

kiwilove- I'm so sorry for your loss! I hope you can start the Clomid again soon and will get your sticky BFP ASAP!

As for me, I'm 6 or 7 dpo now! Trying not to symptom spot, but that's definitely easier said than done. My cervix is high, I've had some yellow CM mixed in with white creamy CM, and today my temp has been hovering around 99.3-99.5, which I've read that a low grade fever can be an early, early pregnancy symptom. Trying not to get my hopes up too much and manage my expectations as I know how hard of a blow a BFN/AF can be when you've convinced yourself that it's gonna be a BFP!

Ladies can anyone give me some advice please?

Yesterday and the day before I had some cervical fluid that was see through/clear and stretchy, and today it changed but I'm really wet so it's still clear but watery and sticky what does this mean??? Sorry TMI ladies

Before I started to ttc I never noticed this

SarahLou - stretchy cm is usually fertile cm, I tend to get it for a week before I ovulate and loads the day before I ovulate. Before I started ttc I never noticed my cm either, if anyone had asked I would have said I didn't have any cm but how wrong was I!!! I do have to insert a finger or 2 to get to it, which is how most ladies tend to check, although when I'm at my peak I can sometimes see it on a tissue. If you google about it you can find instructions on how to check and what to look for. If its changed from stretchy to watery it might mean you have ovulated, but would obviously depend where you are in your cycle.

Wanting2010 - Good luck with the 2ww, its so hard not to symptom spot, last year when I was trying I seemed to have every symptom going, I swear my mind and body made them up to get my hopes up. Fingers crossed for you.

Nothing to report with me, this mornings temperature wasn't accurate, I had to get up in the night to give my son his inhaler, then I couldn't get back to sleep for ages, then I felt like I'd only just gone back to sleep when I was woken up at 5.10am by my son coming in to tell me it was morning. He got in bed with us and was practically lying on me so I think my temp was raised due to me moving too much and him lying on me. Luckily I'm not near ovulation so have discarded the temp. I had a dream last night that I was heavily pregnant, and would be giving birth in a matter of days...hopefully it was a premonition!! lol

xx

Thanks everyone x

cookie - that's a good point, I guess I coould just try it for one month, doesn't neccesarily have to be ongoing...

is the risk of OHSS a high one? x are there any other risks I should take into account?

wanting 2010 - I think I took soy onve before a few years ago, i can't remember exactly what I took but I don't think it worked for me, then again niehter did clomid at first...?

What's OHSS?

Well I think I'm nearing ovulation, I'm on CD 16, getting quite alot of ewcm and my opk was much darker so might even be a day or 2 away. Based on my last cycle I wasn't expecting to ovulate til CD 20/21 so any earlier is fab. Only problem I have is that I put my back out on Friday and I'm in alot of pain, the thought of baby dancing is not attractive to me at all but I don't want to waste a whole cycle so gonna have to try despite being in pain.

Hey ladies, just wanted to check back in and update. I'm 14dpo and tested positive this morning and yesterday as-well. Definitely praying for a sticky bean. This will be my second bfp in my 9yrs of ttc#1. I had a mc in 2005, and not a bfp since. This was my first cycle of trying with Femara and I only have one tube, so we feel really blessed just to have this cycle be successful. Thank you for all the fingers crossed, I needed them. Praying for bfp for all you ladies soon!!!

Wow that is fab swtpinkbabi - hope this bean sticks! Really amazing after so long you have got your bfp. Xxx
