Anyone disappointed with their choice of pram?

The annoying thing for first time mums is that you buy a pram when you're still pregnant and have no idea how it's actually going to be in real life. I researched for ages when I got my Oyster, knew it was the pram for me, loved it loads, and still loved it loads and would recommend it to anyone when LO was still in the carry cot. However now he's in the seat unit, I can see there are a number of places where the Oyster falls short and none of it is forseeable when you don't actually have a baby. Louie just doesn't get on with it (he's a big boy) and he looks very uncomfortable in the seat, slouches down a lot, never falls asleep in it and this is what disappoints me. I'm currently selling it :( xx

Me. I was bought a 'Mothercare Xtreme' and its THE most heavy lumbering enormous 3 wheeler I have ever used. Perfect for going off roading in the lake district, but fitting it into a boot of a car that is not an estate is virtually impossible!!

Bought myself a £50 Zeta Voom stroller which looks like a Maclaren but is much better! Baby faces forward (mine HATES facing me and has done since 2 months as she is nosey) and it is light, umbrella folds and can be picked up with one hand. Its so good that about 6 of my friends have bought one off Amazon and a few sold their enormously expensive buggies!

I met one of my husbands pregnant work colleagues a few weeks ago looking in John Lewis at prams, and she was gazing adoringly at one of the ENORMOUS silver cross old fashioned prams and I did warn her about how completely impractical it was. She bought it anyway....I give her a month before she is wanting to burn it!!

We had a silver cross 3d and just changed it for a M&P Luna! SC was so heavy and cumbersome.

Poodle- did you get caught up with the romanticism of the SC? It DOES look the part when you are pregnant and you wistfully imagine pushing your gorgeous baby around a park on a beautiful summers day!

I am:cry:

It's rubbish. It's a graco something or other travel system and I hate it.

With my son, we splashed out and bought the bebe confort loola system, and I loved it. We then lent it to my husbands sister and when it came back to us, in time for Alice's arrival, it was in a bit of a state. Well quite a big state, so even though money is a bit tight, my husband agreed to me buying a new one for Alice and we spent £350 on the new one and gave the loola to a charity shop.

Now I'm using it, I realise how inferior it is to the loola. The car seat is massive, I can just about manage to lift it when Alice is inside and one of the wheels squeaks... Constantly... Despite my spraying nearly a whole can of wd40 on it.

I so regret the choice we made, and we can't afford to buy a different one.
I also regret giving away the loola, as even a scuffed up dirty pram would be preferable to the one I have.

Sorry, rant over!

We also have a Graco travel system and got it free thru DH's baby safety program. I think it's one of their lesser systems...and I'm none too pleased with it. However, DH is making me hold off on getting a new one until I'm absolutely fed up with it. I mean - it even looks uncomfortable for her when she's in it!

I absolutely adore my pram I looked online for ages 2 and picked what I wanted before I was even pregnant after my 12wk scan I went out 2 the shops and had a push about and just fell in love with it. I got a babystyle prestige 3 in 1 spot on black it looks gorgeous i get so many comments on it and its a dream 2 push about and junior loves being in it. Think the only thing that let's it down is that air wheels I really didn't want that but couldn't get any other wheels 4 it so it was a compromise I was willing 2 make. Iv had 2 punctures so far but its rather straight forward 2 fix gets me in good practice for when juniors going a bike lol xx

I hate ours now! its the quinny buzz, I'm nagging oh so we'll hopefully be getting a bugaboo donkey in the next couple of months :flower:

forgot to add, I love the balmoral and Kensington sc's, I really wanted one but we didn't have enough storage at our old place, if we ever have another lo I will be buying it no question :haha:

I am starting to regret mine too! I wish I had researched more but the situation I was in whilst pregnant I had to go by price really! x

love mine.
its the uppababy
:cloud9:

even my hubby loves it! and he could really give a shit about stuff like that :haha:

yes gone massivley off ours its so huge and lumbering and takes me about 5mins to set up - gave up and started baby wearing. luckly i brought it second hand so it was very expensive

I reeeeeeaally want a nice Silvercross one now  Will get one for next LO

We ave a Hauck travel system and its fiddly and ugly, I didnt buy it

I was when I lived in London, we had the mothercare My3 and found it bulky for the tube, buses etc. We had serious bugaboo bee envy! However we moved to Kent and found the My3 was just fine.

We just use a lightweight pushchair now though.

We bought the Graco Excursion travel system, and I hated it with a passion. I believe we were missold it, because we asked the sales assistant in Toys R Us to recommend one, because admittedly we didn't know much about buggies. She said the Graco was "one of the best", very popular, good value for money and lightweight. It was none of those things, and it was my mum's money totally wasted. We bought it when we were living in the UK though, and we had the baby abroad 4 months later, so you can hardly go back and complain at that point

Eventually we went on a flight and when we collected it on the luggage carousel we found they'd broken a wheel off it. That was enough for me to go any buy an umbrella stroller, and I was so happy with it. This time we've properly researched what we want and spent more and I believe we will be happy with our choice.

We had a hauck travel system, it was alright as a pram (although you couldn't use the basket underneath as the pram part got in the way!) but the pushchair was awful, so i got a red kite urban jogger which i love now. For our next baby i'll be more aware I think of the prams/pushchairs but as a first time mom its hard to choose xx

We had a Graco Quattro and steering was good, though it was bulky and the seat unit wasn't so comfortable.. plus they sell for like £20 on ebay now, paid £290 for it.
Second we got the babystyle oyster, sh*t warranty of 6 measly months!!! Frame broke after 7 months.. babystyle didn't want to know, £260 down the shi**er!!! Since then have been babywearing but we are getting a babyjogger city mini soon, i haven't seen any bad reviews, will be useful for J and baby number #2, good warranty on it i've heard. xxx

(just realised my awful language!! baby companys rifle me sorry xx)

I loved my first pram (Stokke xplory) but I have changed a few times since we had to get a double. I liked the peach as a single and as a double with the car seat, but not as a double otherwise. The donkey is great where there's room for it, handles like a dream, but it is big. The p and t vibe is great but not as easy to push and they're not big fans of the bottom seat. We had a m and p Luna, which was always tipping up, a zapp which did the same, but was bloody useful, and a couple of umbrella folding buggies, single and double, which I hate but keep for the cm.

We have the Mamas and Papas Ultima in Polka and I really love it. However, I struggled to decide between that, the Silver Cross Classic Sleepover and an Emmaljunga. Have to admit I look on wistfully everytime I see an Emmaljunga now, they are lovely.

I've had a couple of Gracos, 16 and 10 years ago and they were really reasonably priced and one lasted 3 years Ish, the other lasted two children, so over 3 years. I do much more walking now though, so prefer something cosier.

Poodle- did you get caught up with the romanticism of the SC? It DOES look the part when you are pregnant and you wistfully imagine pushing your gorgeous baby around a park on a beautiful summers day!

Ha ha yeah, and it was on offer for the pram plus the car seat for £300 so we didn't really do any research.

we got a graco quattro for £100 including car seat & base. it was fine, it did the job but i preferred babywearing. when bella was 7 months, we got a secondhand bugaboo frog & we all love it :)
we've spent less than £250 on both prams & the £100 for the graco doesn't feel too bad as we've had 14 months of use of the car seat. we might be using the car seat again for #2, depending on how we find the britax first class plus we have for a newborn.
xx
