Anyone else experiencing difficulties conceiving no.2 or beyond?

It really makes no sense at all!! It's cruel. Spockette you sound very similar to me I. Your efforts :) did the fertility specialist offer you any assistance or suggestions or just rob you of your money

I think I have decide to ring for an appointment on Tuesday.

Wild chic when are you expecting AF to show up? How long is your luteal phase? Xx

I think it's a very similar situation to you, Clare :flower: so I know how emotionally and mentally draining it is. I had the ultrasound privately which came with the consultation with the FS. The ultrasound was worth it because they diagnosed the cyst and the consultation was very therapeutic. It was good to talk to someone and receive reassurance but apart from the cyst she didn't tell me anything I didn't already know. She did recommend the HSG which has now been done and also the AMH test to check eggs which I will eventually do.
Giving myself 6 months

Good luck hon x

Af was suppose to show today or tuesday. Cycle before last I had a 14 day lp and last cycle it was 16 days, so idk. I'll have to wait this one out. Me and dh actually dtd to bring af on(sorry tmi). I'm hoping it does the trick!

Spockette- where abouts are you in the UK? I am in the south and here if you already have a child you have no option but to go private with all assistance for no.2 I would like the HSG done but I'm worried it will cost a fortune :( I keep wondering where do I draw the line and accept its not meant to be and start enjoying my toddler before she is grown :(

What do you plan do goig forward just keep trying?

Wild chic - I know what you mean my dtd to bring on AF I tried that one a lot when my cycles were crazy. How it shows up soon.

13dpo today and AF showed up just as expected! My husband is also being a prat. Apparently it's not healthy to focus on it like I am (which I agree its prob not) but it annoys me that he seems to think it should just be water of the ducks back to me and I should be totally cool with the whole whatever will be will be thing!!! ** rant over **

Hi Clare,

I'm in London and I think the rule with No.2 is everywhere in the UK. Can I ask what investigations you have had done so far? (If any). The Ultrasound and HSG are part of the fertility investigation package so are therefore free on the NHS.
If I want IVF then I have to pay :growlmad: I just wanted to check that there was nothing stopping me from conceiving. So far, I'm ok but I still need to check my egg quantity.
Other than this, I am just going to keep trying.....

Don't get me wrong, I adore my little girl, as I'm sure you do, but our desire to have a second child isn't any less than the desire to have a first...

What are your plans? If you need any advice or help, I'm always here xxxx

:hugs:

Af showed her ugly face:(
Even with the clomid, my cycles are a few days out! I'm so tired of this ttc already, it just make me depressed!!!

Good luck to you ladies who are still in it, hope you get that beautiful BFP:) I'll be kmfx for you!

:hugs: wild chic :( we can be cycle buddies I'm cd 1 today too :(

Spockette - I am in West Sussex and here you get nothing on the NHS if you already have a baby :( I paid for an ultra sound and that was all clear. I have had all my bloods done FSH and progesterone. The FSH showed slightly raised testosterone so they batted about the whole PCOS thing but I have no cysts at all and they said the testosterone is still well within normal limits.

Because is temp and opk I'm certain I'm ovulating and have a lovely 31 day cycle with O on cd 19 and a 12 day luteal phase. I'm really worried now that I have adhesions from my c sec with my daughter and that's the problem.

Totally know how you feel I love my little girl but I'm so desperate to have another baby. I have decided to contact private fertility specialist tommorow. I think like you having someone to talk it through will really help. Will you go down the IVF route? I don't think my DH would be up for that at all. I suppose we can all just hope that we will fall naturally at some point :) xx

Clare, I am so shocked that West Sussex won't even do the investigations for you!! That's terrible :nope: Is that for every hospital?
I'm sure you're definitely ovulating as your Prog would've shown you weren't. I was actually going to recommend a HSG to check your tubes. I doubt they are blocked as you have conceived once already, but the procedure does clear up any 'cobwebs' or 'debris' in the tubes. I have to warn you though, it's not the most pleasant of things to get done. I didn't feel pain but some ladies do..... I'm hoping he HSG has done the trick and apparently there is a higher rate of women who fall pregnant within the first three months after the procedure. Fingers crossed x x

Is there anyway you can visit your GP and ask them to send you to a hospital for these investigations? I think it's so unfair you have to pay for it :growlmad: You should move to London :winkwink:

I will keep you posted on my progress and please let me know how you get on too xx

:hugs:

I have my fingers crossed for you :) I will make an appointment with my GP this week to discuss all this. It's very unfair here in West Sussex I actually live on the Sussex Surrey border and if I was in Surrey I would get all these tests and meds like Clomid on NHS!!

It's so hard. Did any of you experience traumatic deliveries? I had an emergency c sec followed by a nasty infection and am now starting to wonder if something went very wrong? 12 dpo today and temps dropped right down to cover line. I expect AF to rock up first thing tomorrow :( cycle number 6 here I come :(

I had an emcs too darl :hugs: this is also a massive worry regarding scarring :nope: xx

I would love 2 be cycle buddies:)
I'm sorry to hear af got you though:(
Dh & I decided to do a natural cycle to see if it works and then we'll take it further.
I so hope we get our BFP:)

I'm trying for #3 and having problems conceiving, but it's nothing unusual for us! We had difficulties with the first two pregnacies, too!

I'm trying to conceive #2 , I just started af today! So onto cycle #13 ! Took 3 years to conceive my son x :(

Are there any reasons why it takes so long for you both to conceive? Fx you don't have to wait so long for your bfps this time :hugs:

Not any reason that we no of hun, I'm healthy I ovulate normally and I had a lap and dye and my tubes were fine and open, I did fall pregnant the same cycle as I had my lap and dye.. I hope it don't take as long either hun, but I'm not banking on it . Next step is sperm count 4 my oh as he didn't have one last time as I fell pregnant b4 it was due to be done x

Thank you hun, bless u . Yeh will do u good to get some answers how long have u been trying x

Been off contraception since July 2012 but only got a regular cycle back in January. So 10 months but only 5 of those have been in with a chance as I wasn't ovulating before. I conceived my dd who is 2 next month 1st cycle trying so this has all come as a big shock to me. Doesn't seem at all long in comparison to how long you have been trying. How did you survive 3 years of ttc it makes me crazy.

Aww fingers crossed you get ur bfp soon :)

I have no idea hun, I had many many months of heartache and tears but my oh was always postive and said it will happen & he was right , I kind of gave up in the end and the one month I didn't try due to having the op I fell pregnant , I didn't think I would feel this way after having my son but the hurt is just the same as when I was trying for him x
