Anyone else go through this?

LOL, you ladies are cracking me up. I keep reading though what your FB friends post and shaking my head in agreement. I guess I'm not the only one who knows ridiculous people. I always say if the parent posts that their kid made a poop in the potty that day, the kid is probably going to hate them when their old enough to know the world knew the first time they used a toilet.

It's not cute, it's disgusting. For the sake of humanity, keep some things sacred. Or at least private! Same goes when they think it's just adorable and the world MUST see their child eat mashed potatoes or squishy vegetables. Yes, because when I think "cute" it's your Homer Simpson-looking bald child with smashed vegetable goo all over their face with a toothless grin. That's dripping with sarcasm in case anyone missed it. ;)

Ugh! And the women who act like Mother of the Year, but go out and party all the time.. yeah right, gimme a break. It's like they forget that even though all of our lives are virtually online nowadays, some people actually know them in real life. Instead of being a walking sperm bank with a drinking problem, they should probably rush home and care for the child they just HAD to have despite being jobless, broke, and "never wanted kids anyways."

Excuse my bitterness. I'm dealing with a friend who doesn't know her child's father but pinned down some guy to raise it and the guy constantly brags about how "awesome" his sperm must be to have made such a "beautiful little princess." Gag me! At least until a DNA test confirms his "awesome" sperm. Ugh.

You should check out https://www.stfuparentsblog.com/ it's a blog related to oversharing including you guessed it, pooping subjects. Some mothers even go as far as to post pictures of their kids on the training potty! unreal. But there's a good laugh to be made on that website with the captions B makes to them. No worries, she blocks out faces and names on there so there's no shaming involved. But it's nuts what some new mothers will post on facebook. No discression anymore.

Some women go as far as to post crowning pictures on facebook. Something usually people turn on the discovery channel or youtube for, not facebook LOL

Bahaha!!! Oh, this site is hilarious. The first picture alone was just awful of the "spoiled Christmas" edition. Insane some of the things people do. And...crowning?! Isn't that prohibited? It's got to be in the FB rules somewhere: "No one wants to see that. Don't post it." haha:haha:

You'll be shocked as to what some of the posts are. The spoiled Christmas one imo doesn't really deserve to be on that website as all the comments are "wow that kid is going to grow up to be a spoiled brat, a monster" ect and it's basically kid bashing. Agreed that the mother was trying to up one everyone but no one knows how they raise their kids. My Christmases were identical, mountains of toys and I came out fine. It's not on the amount of presents the kid gets, it's about how they're raised. lol but B, the blogger makes is super hilarious with her comments she makes about the submissions!

I so know how you feel. When you aren't TTC, you don't notice pregnancies or the announcements and then when you start and it just isn't happening, boom, everyone around you is pregnant! I have to say though that I didn't have any problems with people posting about how happy they were or posting pictures of their babies on facebook. I had issues with friends who knew I was trying and had been for absolutely ages and then they fell pregnant and complained. Morning sickness was driving them mad, they were in so much pain, they hate being pregnant, they're fat, nothing fits them. That was what bothered me. I just used to think I would take morning sickness at it's very worst, put on 5 stone if need be, I'd take every bad side effect of pregnancy just to have one baby.

I have to say though that I am now guilty of posting lots of pictures of my baby on facebook but I think it's just something you do.

I really hope you don't have to wait too much longer for your baby. It is absolute hell when you think it will never happen. But I'm sure it will x

Your baby is beauitful :) This post was more of a hormonal AF rant then anything. I usually just see those photos as inspiration but during AF they're like an enemy laughing at you in the face while they live your dream kind of thing.

I have no problem with people who post pictures of their precious LO's, heck it's what facebook is meant for to post stuff that goes on in your life.. as long as people have some decency about it and it doesn't take over their whole facebook. Without exageration I have a friend who on average posts 200 pictures a month of their LO. 10 at a time are usually normal baby stuff like sleeping and eating. Over kill lol.

It's more the meme's saying "share this if you think a mother is the best job in the world" or any gloating meme's like that.

There was one thing that confused me once..that same friend started uploading the same amount of photos but of her kid at daycare. Isn't the point of daycare is to give them independence while you go to work or what not? What's the point of being at a daycare if you're right there with them? lol

Aw thank you! I know what you mean. I'm very conscious on facebook to make sure that not every status I put on is about my little boy. I hate it when it's all someone talks about. I went to the pub before I was pregnant with my friend who'd just had her baby and she has always been great fun but the first hour was of her showing us all her baby pictures. Mum or not a mum, it's SO boring! Fine, show me the cute ones where they're doing something other than just being a baby. But I don't want to see the ones of their baby just sitting there, sleeping, eating. It bores the hell out of me.

I have so many people on my facebook who go on and on about their children all the time. I know when you have a baby that they become a massive part of your life but they aren't the only thing in it. Other things surely happen to them that don't involve their children. Or maybe they just have very boring lives? I'm very conscious not to become one of those mums who will only talk about them and nothing else.

It is so hard especially when AF arrives. But once AF buggers off, then you can focus on being positive and that it will happen.

When we were TTC, I just used to look around at everyone and think they all came from a pregnancy. How many people are there on this earth! It has got to be highly unlikely that you won't have one. That was what I kept telling myself. Your turn will come and trust me, I was there thinking I'm not lucky enough to be one of those LTTTC'ers who fall pregnant. It just wouldn't happen for me but it did x

this is what bugs me the most - This is DH's Ex who has a new baby with some random... and the only reason i have her on FB is because of his kids and it keeps the peace (we also found out about her PGY via a scan pic at 26 weeks on FB!)

This was last night:

"Up for a good home 7 month old name is XXXXX. I will have him back when he as done teething and crying with the pain :(xx "

This is tonight:

"My children: you are my heart and soul, the air that I breathe, the reasons I get up in the morning, I'm blessed to be your Mommie"

Really!! well shut up moaning about them then!

LOL, yeah I thought that presents picture was kind of ridiculous because of the amount of presents, but it was really tame compared to some others. I saw the crowning picture and I'm officially scarred for life, haha.

I do have to say that even when we weren't TTC, I was a little "aww, man.. :(" whenever someone I went to high school with or knew as a child would announce their big news. I've wanted to be a mom since I was a kid myself (crazy, I know, but it's what I wanted). It was a small moment of me being jealous and then I'd move on. Now, though, it's quite harder to see.

When I got married and we started, I thought it would be easier than it is to get pregnant and that's when I got extremely tired of the pregnancy announcements. Most of which didn't start happening until we were TTC. I think that's actually to blame on most people started flocking to FB after we started TTC (the timeline matched up to all of my friends officially getting an account, leaving Myspace or whatever--even my grandparents made one, lol). I don't mind seeing pictures of people's kids once they're born though, that's the odd part.

Of course, 100 photos a day of the kid doing the same thing gets to be a bit much, but it seems easier once the kid's here. Maybe it's just that I'm jealous of their pregnancies more than anything? Sorry, babbling again! haha :)

susan_1981: Yea even before TTC, I was always a bit annoyed by those that lose their identity to their children on social media. Then you start noticing that they're spending too much time with the kid because they start talking like them with such 5 year old language LOL. Wish people were more consious about what they post but that's humanity for ya, me me me. I'm not one to say what people can and can not post, just that it would be a curtious thing to do what I do before posting anything by asking myself "would i want to see this on my news feed from someone else?" if the answer is no, then I don't post it. The biggest problem is like I said, people losing their identity to their social media page. Also... not to sound like the Grinch of facebook again lol but contrary to belief, people generally don't care if the baby made it's first poop or if the baby is snoring. Some of the useless and tmi info I've seen on my news feed make me shiver everytime I remember haha.

xxshellsxx: Referring back to what I said to Susan, she should've thought "gee, how would I feel if my mom posted that about me?" Seriously..does she not realize the kid will eventually grow old enough to get facebook. I'd be shattered if I read something like that. disgusting.

Miss_Awesome: Right there with you. I was blind and denial about ttc when we first started. I had spent my life seeing people get BFP by practically just sharing soaps with either a random or their OH/DH so I figured well since my DH only has 30% of his sperm alive it only takes one so it doesn't matter if he has one or a billion. May take a bit longer but no biggy. Boy did I not know a bit longer meant three years later with only one BFP 4 months ago that ended in M/C. Let's just say biology class felt like a real sham with "cover up of you'll get pregnant, fact" mentality. :dohh:

Still not giving up though. The only thing I'm greatful for is that I'm not the only one in the marriage that a BFP is my life goal. When we went to go visit our friend this week who has a 3 month old, we were both heart broken and spent the night depressed and trying to cheer each other up together. Especially since the kid was born 2 weeks after the M/C. The worst part about the M/C was having two births within 2 weeks after it happened. One actually happened literally as a friend of ours gave birth like we're not kidding within an hour after I officially M/C the kid was in the world. Then our friend we visited was 2 weeks later. BOTH were accidental BFP's and are teen parents!

I think the worst of the worst part as to why we were depressed when we came back home was they love their kid and treat him perfectly, no denying that. However, his environment is atrocious. The apartment looked like a grenade went off in it. We're talking not a single clean utensil in the house, all of the counters plastered with plates, pots, pans and utensils with all solidified food on it, knives in a bowl right at the edge of the kitchen table where if he were of walking age he could easily grab one and potentially cause major harm to himself, empty liquor bottleS on the floor at the front door (father decided at one month old inviting a friend over to share a 40oz of rum was fine even though he didn't know how his friend reacts to alcohol *eyeroll*), pizza boxes, rice boxes and garbage on the floor in the kitchen, clothes in the hallway. Living room was more clothes and every table in it was also filled with trash and dirty dishes with dried up old food on them.

Then, the father decided it was gaming time. The mother tried to ask him where the baby formula was. At first he didn't respond, then when he did it was very aggressively like as if she was an annoyance. Yet you got the baby right next to them on the floor in front of the tv playing with those dangily toys on a mat from toys r us (don't know the name for it except that my husband said it's a must for us whenever we conceive lol). At some point the mother went to go the store to get regular milk for our coffee and my DH and his friend were in the kitchen and I spent a few minutes a lone with the LO. The look in his eyes I'll never forget. The most innocent, loving eyes I had ever seen. It was like an instant bond. (disclaimer: in case it sounds odd for spending time alone with another woman's baby, I was being my maternal self by watching the kid. Couldn't help it, it kicked in by itself. Kid had a blast though lol. But made sure I didn't get too friendly with him though..didn't want to give the impression I was one of those crazy infertiles that wants to snatch their baby. God knows our friends are probably immature enough to think that)

Put it this way, if CPS (child protective services) ever showed up they'd be in some serious serious trouble. Heck, even the stove was till full of crumbs and burnt crap.

Point of that was seeing that those teen parents (she's 18, he's 20) get to be parents yet we have a fairly clean house, perfect relationship we're talking no fights in the 3 1/2 years we've been together, both us have this major surge for taking care of kids. When my DH interacted with their child the kid lit up like a Christmas tree with happiness and started smiling and bobbing his head. The way the kid lit up it seemed like as if the kid never gets any source of human entertainment humor wise. I got to see what a great father he's going to be and it just plain sucks to see those kinds of people get it easy yet us who do everything right have to fight tooth and nail.

wow Sorry about the ramble..got lost in my train of thought there. lol

Omg this is the one thing that I hate the most... As a result I've deleted my fb page I was fed up with the same 'like if your a mom' bull crap obviously people are going to like it but don't like the same bl00dy thing over and over - I KNOW YOU A MOM!!!! Aghhhh

I've Xmas eve/day and boxing my fb newsfeed saw 7 pregnancy announcements 2 sex announcements and 1 birth!!!!

Ladies 2013 WILL be our year only when it happens we're be a little more sensitive about :D xxx

I think the problem with other people who find it easy to fall pregnant is that they don't realise what it's like for those that don't find it easy. Like before I started trying for a baby, if someone got married, I would ask "babies next?" but it's only now that I struggled for so long that I realised what a personal question that actually is.

So I don't think infertility is something people think about unless they are affected by it or if they know someone who is struggling.

But I was also conscious not to become one of those mums that does nothing but talk about babies once I had them. But the girl I sit next to at work - she took quite a while to fall pregnant as she has PCOS - she has 2 children but you'd never know because she hardly ever talks about them which is nice, but slightly strange at the same time :)

You are so right! I'm always surprised at some of the things people say when they're fertile or never had to try for as long as some of us have. I was on another forums site like this the other day (cough, BabyGaga, cough) and saw someone had posted about signing a petition. It involved asking the government (here in the States) to make sure diagnostic testing for infertility is covered by insurance. Things like blood tests, ultrasounds, semen analysis, etc.

The women who commented on it were almost cruel in posting responses. None of their signatures said they were TTC, but nearly all had a picture of themselves and a baby as their avatar. They were saying things like, "why should something elective be covered?" or "what next? this opens the door to trannies wanting sex changes!" So stupid, but.. they've probably never been in the shoes of infertility.

I think you should be able to brag on your baby if you'd like to, but if you know someone who's been TTC or struggling, maybe set the posts to custom? See, I've already got this mapped out when/if I ever get pregnant. I know the ladies who are struggling (well, just a handful of them) and plan on telling them first so they don't get that awful shock. Also, I then plan to make all posts "Custom" and just keep them from having to see them. It's sad the kind of time I've got to sit around and plan this. :haha:

Well tonight AF showed up almost 2 days late. As I'm consoling DH and getting us pumped for Femara cycle #2 guess who makes their pregnancy announcement: Kim Kardashian. LOL! Not really too big of deal since I don't know her, but annoying nonetheless. I then logged into my personal FB by accident and was bombarded by kid pics. Wonderful.

Kim is pregnant? *facepalm* lol. That's how isolated I am from mainstream media and entertainment business. I don't even have tv, everything is netflix :haha:.

But you're definitely right though when it comes to the fertiles not knowing what it's like but the worst of the bunch are the ones that do know it exists, they do know someone struggling with it, they have been asked to cool it on the posts yet still continue to do so with the "i don't give a shit, if you don't like it delete me" like their shit don't sink attitude. worst...people..ever!

The ones that don't realize about it, i can understand. But even before TTC I always found those posts obnoxious lol

Apparently Kim K. is 3 months along! I'm seriously thinking about cutting the cable off and sticking to Netflix because I'm tired of 'joyous' news being thrown in my face (no ill feelings toward the unborn as every new life is precious). Sucks that Khloe is the infertile sister and I was hoping she would fall pregnant soon.

I agree with you about some fertiles can be extremely rude! My friend TTC her first son for 2 long years. She cried every time the test was negative and her period showed. I supported her pregnancies and would spend months on end at her house helping her tend to her kids. Ever since I got married said friend takes every single opportunity to tell me children will ruin my life; she doesn't care if I'm infertile or that we've been trying for a long time I need to hear the "truth." Yikes!

As odd as it may sound if I were Khloe I would take her status of famous and spread awareness about infertility. She's got the perfect oppurtunity to do so.

Yea switching to netflix was the best thing I ever did. Cheaper and no entertainment news lol
