susan_1981: Yea even before TTC, I was always a bit annoyed by those that lose their identity to their children on social media. Then you start noticing that they're spending too much time with the kid because they start talking like them with such 5 year old language LOL. Wish people were more consious about what they post but that's humanity for ya, me me me. I'm not one to say what people can and can not post, just that it would be a curtious thing to do what I do before posting anything by asking myself "would i want to see this on my news feed from someone else?" if the answer is no, then I don't post it. The biggest problem is like I said, people losing their identity to their social media page. Also... not to sound like the Grinch of facebook again lol but contrary to belief, people generally don't care if the baby made it's first poop or if the baby is snoring. Some of the useless and tmi info I've seen on my news feed make me shiver everytime I remember haha.
xxshellsxx: Referring back to what I said to Susan, she should've thought "gee, how would I feel if my mom posted that about me?" Seriously..does she not realize the kid will eventually grow old enough to get facebook. I'd be shattered if I read something like that. disgusting.
Miss_Awesome: Right there with you. I was blind and denial about ttc when we first started. I had spent my life seeing people get BFP by practically just sharing soaps with either a random or their OH/DH so I figured well since my DH only has 30% of his sperm alive it only takes one so it doesn't matter if he has one or a billion. May take a bit longer but no biggy. Boy did I not know a bit longer meant three years later with only one BFP 4 months ago that ended in M/C. Let's just say biology class felt like a real sham with "cover up of you'll get pregnant, fact" mentality.
Still not giving up though. The only thing I'm greatful for is that I'm not the only one in the marriage that a BFP is my life goal. When we went to go visit our friend this week who has a 3 month old, we were both heart broken and spent the night depressed and trying to cheer each other up together. Especially since the kid was born 2 weeks after the M/C. The worst part about the M/C was having two births within 2 weeks after it happened. One actually happened literally as a friend of ours gave birth like we're not kidding within an hour after I officially M/C the kid was in the world. Then our friend we visited was 2 weeks later. BOTH were accidental BFP's and are teen parents!
I think the worst of the worst part as to why we were depressed when we came back home was they love their kid and treat him perfectly, no denying that. However, his environment is atrocious. The apartment looked like a grenade went off in it. We're talking not a single clean utensil in the house, all of the counters plastered with plates, pots, pans and utensils with all solidified food on it, knives in a bowl right at the edge of the kitchen table where if he were of walking age he could easily grab one and potentially cause major harm to himself, empty liquor bottleS on the floor at the front door (father decided at one month old inviting a friend over to share a 40oz of rum was fine even though he didn't know how his friend reacts to alcohol *eyeroll*), pizza boxes, rice boxes and garbage on the floor in the kitchen, clothes in the hallway. Living room was more clothes and every table in it was also filled with trash and dirty dishes with dried up old food on them.
Then, the father decided it was gaming time. The mother tried to ask him where the baby formula was. At first he didn't respond, then when he did it was very aggressively like as if she was an annoyance. Yet you got the baby right next to them on the floor in front of the tv playing with those dangily toys on a mat from toys r us (don't know the name for it except that my husband said it's a must for us whenever we conceive lol). At some point the mother went to go the store to get regular milk for our coffee and my DH and his friend were in the kitchen and I spent a few minutes a lone with the LO. The look in his eyes I'll never forget. The most innocent, loving eyes I had ever seen. It was like an instant bond. (disclaimer: in case it sounds odd for spending time alone with another woman's baby, I was being my maternal self by watching the kid. Couldn't help it, it kicked in by itself. Kid had a blast though lol. But made sure I didn't get too friendly with him though..didn't want to give the impression I was one of those crazy infertiles that wants to snatch their baby. God knows our friends are probably immature enough to think that)
Put it this way, if CPS (child protective services) ever showed up they'd be in some serious serious trouble. Heck, even the stove was till full of crumbs and burnt crap.
Point of that was seeing that those teen parents (she's 18, he's 20) get to be parents yet we have a fairly clean house, perfect relationship we're talking no fights in the 3 1/2 years we've been together, both us have this major surge for taking care of kids. When my DH interacted with their child the kid lit up like a Christmas tree with happiness and started smiling and bobbing his head. The way the kid lit up it seemed like as if the kid never gets any source of human entertainment humor wise. I got to see what a great father he's going to be and it just plain sucks to see those kinds of people get it easy yet us who do everything right have to fight tooth and nail.
wow Sorry about the ramble..got lost in my train of thought there. lol
